Hello friends. Welcome to this week's edition of 2x2. The weekly newsletter of links, ideas, and diversions for leaders and creators like you. Enjoy! Check this out 1: [The new email app for iPhone and iPad]( Lots of power-user features are now part of Apple’s mail app. The one I’m honestly most happy about is the improvements to search. (One of the big components of our [Calm Inbox system]( is the importance of using searching instead of sorting to find past emails.) And, speaking of email, here are my own, personal [top-3 tips for making your iPhone Email app more focused.]( 2: [“If it’s Not Simple, It’s Bull****”]( From Ryan Holiday: “A lot of complicated stuff isn’t actually complicated.” For example: I once paid $6,000 to be part of a business training program. The contents of the program were three 30-minute training videos, a spreadsheet, and two Q&A calls. From the outside, that may sound like a rip-off. But the content was clear and focused. It was simple. Thanks to the simplicity, the lessons and ideas I took away from that program have continued to stick with me. Something to think about 1: What Don’t You Do? This is a question [Sarah Peck]( brought up yesterday during a workshop she hosted. There are a plethora of things which we could do and unending demands on our time and attention. It takes design and focus to only do the things that matter most. Sometimes it can be nice to have a list of [the things you don’t do and don’t bother with]( in order to create the space for the important stuff. 2: Show Up Every Day “We tend to overestimate what we can do in a short period, and underestimate what we can do over a long period, provided we work slowly and consistently.” — Gretchen Rubin * * * — Shawn P.S. Every September we donate 10% of our course sales revenue to St. Jude as part of the [Relay fundraising drive](). This year my pals at Relay are this close to crossing $2,000,000 in lifetime donations! Please consider donating.
