Hey all, Welcome to this week's edition of 2x2. As always, I've got a couple of resources, tools, diversions, books, tools, toys, or other types of recommendations for you to check out; and then, secondly, are a couple of ideas, stories, or tips from me. If you enjoy this weekly email, I would be honored if you told somebody. They can sign up here: shawnblanc.net/newsletter/ * * * Check this out 1: [8 rules for being a productive creator]( Rule 9: Don’t overthink it. Perfectionism will kill your progress. 2: [Photography Storytelling Workshop book]( from Finn Beales I took the online course version of this same training and absolutely loved it. Probably one of the most helpful and practical guides to actually improving my photography that I’ve ever been through. And now there is also a magazine / book version of that same online course. Some things are different and some things overlap between the two. But the fundamental ideas that I walked away with from the online course — as far as ways to shoot and things to look for — are all inside this $20 full-color workbook. If you want to take better photos, this thing is a bargain at twice the price. Something to think about 1: How to apply “Automate, Eliminate, Delegate” to your email - Automate = pre-built rules for filtering, sorting, flagging, and deleting your email - Eliminate = unsubscribe (of course) - Delegate = using canned replies, an assistant, and/or a “smart service” to help manage your inbox. (Side note, if you want a calmer inbox, there’s more [here](.) 2: How to Plan Your Week Every Monday I start with this template: - Top 3 projects - Events or themes each day - Any misc tasks - How I want to celebrate at the end of the week Even a simple plan like this will eliminate dozens of redundant decisions for me over the next week. (Notebook pics [here](.) * * * — Shawn P.S. A few weeks back I began posting [daily video reels to Instagram]( to help you with productivity, time management, and focus. Each one is under a minute.
