Hey all, Welcome to this week's edition of 2x2. As always, I've got a couple of resources, tools, diversions, books, tools, toys, or other types of recommendations for you to check out; and then, secondly, are a couple of ideas, stories, or tips from me. If you enjoy this new format, let me know. What are some things you think should be linked in here or some questions you'd like to see answered? Check this out 1: [Shlep]( Love this article from Paul Graham about the fact that a lot of work kinda sucks — that’s the nature of it a lot of time. And so you have to just dive on in and do it. As Paul says, that’s not to say you should go out of your way to seek out unpleasant work, but neither should you shrink from it when it's on the path to something great. 2: [How my team and I use Notion]( It’s been 18 months since we switched from Basecamp to Notion for managing our entire editorial calendar and all other projects as well. There are a lot of great things and a lot of frustrating things about Notion — here is a behind-the-scenes look at all of it. Notion side note: are you using Notion? If so, how? If not, got any questions about it? Hit reply to let us know. * * * Something to think about 1: The quality of your questions matter I grew up being taught that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers... But that doesn’t mean all questions are equal. A great question will go a whole lot further in getting you to a great answer. 2: Normalize the life you want to live It’s amazing how many folks have normalized being busy. They’ve normalized stress and anxiety. They’ve normalized debt. They’ve normalized urgency. They’ve normalized being always connected. Do any of those folks actually want that type of day-to-day life? I know I don’t. What if you and I normalized the opposite of those things? I’ve normalized margin and breathing room in my schedule. I’ve normalized making choices that reflect my values. I’ve normalize the relationships and activities that are healthy for my life. This is, ironically, counter cultural. But it’s the sweet reward of living a focused life. * * * — Shawn P.S. In local news, my good friend Anna Sorge recently opened an amazing restaurant in town and [she was just profiled in Kansas City magazine.]( [In-Depth App Training for Power Users]( To unsubscribe, click [here](.
