Hello friends, As someone who has invested tens of thousands of dollars in courses over the years, there is one thing I've noticed... I have completed about half of the courses I've signed up for. While the other half are collecting "digital dust" so to speak. There has been one thing in particular that separates the courses I've completed from the ones I have not... Real-Time Accountability Real-time accountability is what made all the difference for me compared to a self-paced course. (And, turns out, I'm not the only one.) But what about the other factors? Well... The quality of the course didn't matter ... I have done (and not done) courses that were both high-production videos with fancy websites, to a simple series of blog posts behind a paywall... The topic of the course didn't matter... from business development to SEO to being a better writer... Even the price of the course didn't make a difference... from as little as $200 to as much as $6,000... The only factor that has made a significant difference was if the course had real-time accountability or not. Turns out, this is science! The American Society of Training and Development state that those who simply decide to do something have a 25% chance of accomplishing it... compared to the 95% chance of those who decide when and where they will do something and who also have someone to report back to. In other words: - Self-paced = 25% likelihood of completing - Real-Time Accountability = 95% likelihood And that 3.5x factor is on the conservative side! In our experience, by combining live training with a community of peers, we have found that people are 20x more likely to see results than if they were do go through a self-guided course on their own. Wow! * * * So.... As you consider joining for [this upcoming Academy cohort](, I'm sure you want to know the schedule for this real-time program (I know I would.) Here are all the dates for Focus Course Academy's fall cohort: Enrollment window: Sep 1 – 13 Enrollment for the Fall Academy Cohort is [open now]( and ends this coming Monday, September 13. Onboarding Week: Sep 14 – 17 During onboarding week we'll get you all set up and ready for Academy. This is when you will download your workbook, join the Slack community, connect with your small-group mastermind (for [Pro]( or [VIP](), and some other fun things we have planned. Vision Week: Sep 20 – 24 Here we go! This is when Academy starts. During week 1 we will dive into The 5 Components of a Focused Life. And, using our unique template, you will be able to identify your core values and draft your life’s mission. This foundational week will set the groundwork for everything that will follow. Strategy Week: Sep 27 – Oct 1 During week 2 we will focus on goal setting plus strategy. You will identify goals for each area of your life and discover how your small actions tie in to the larger desired outcomes you have. Habits Week: Oct 4 – 8 Week 3 of Academy is arguably the apex of the whole thing. This is when we will help you to develop your ideal schedule and identify habits that will move you forward in each area of your life. It's during this module that most of our members have their "lightbulb" moments — the results from these sections are often what produce the biggest, long-term impact on people. Margin Week: Oct 11 – 15 In the final week of Academy, we will dive into Margin (a.k.a. Breathing Room). Including the importance of boundaries in our life, how to overcome some well-known obstacles, and also how to use the 4-Focus Method to keep things on track once you wrap up the Academy. Conclusion: Oct 15 Our final session of Academy will be Friday, October 15. * * * Once we begin on September 20, below is what the weekly schedule will be like. Most sessions are at 3pm Eastern time. - Mondays: Main lesson training (live at 3pm Eastern; replay available) - Tuesdays: Focus Hour (a.k.a. Study hall) - Wednesdays: Bonus training workshops - Thursdays: Mastermind small groups - Fridays: Group office hours with Q&A You can choose to join us for as MUCH or as LITTLE as you want. During our pilot cohorts, some folks came to every session and some folks only attended the main Monday lesson. It's up to you. Everything will be recorded and made available for watching later. * * * Hopefully this helps as you consider if you are ready to join us for Academy.
