Hey all, Welcome to this week's edition of 2x2. As always, I've got a couple of resources, tools, diversions, books, tools, toys, or other types of recommendations for you to check out; and then, secondly, are a couple of ideas, stories, or tips from me. And, as I mentioned on Wednesday, I've got a handful of stories and articles in store as we count down to the new Focus Academy over the next few weeks. So keep an eye on your inbox. Check this out 1: [4 Loops of Creative Struggle]( In short: if you never take action, you’ll be frustrated. (Side note 1: Janis has been posting illustrations like this to his Twitter for a while, and they are fantastic. Definitely worth giving him a follow. And, side note 2: [How to get time for your side projects.]() 2: [Mela (New Recipe App)]( I've been using Paprika for years and years, but Mela is on another level. This is an absolutely stunning new recipe app. And it was a piece of cake (ha!) to export my Paprika recipes and import them to Mela. Something to think about 1: The Law of Tradeoffs In order to give your perpetual devotion to any one thing it will require the perpetual neglect of many other things. Focus requires tradeoffs. You can only focus on so many areas of life at a time. And you can only do focused, deep work for so many hours in the day. Instead of being ignorant to these limitations, embrace them. Get more out of the focus that you have by routinizing and automating the non-trivial areas of your life so that even when you are not giving them your full attention and devotion, they are not being fully neglected. 2: Do you have a "Cornerstone Habit"? Is there a single, most-important activity or habit in your day that seems to set everything else up for success? * * * — Shawn P.S.
