If you’re trying to make a change, few things are more frustrating than the gap between ?

If you’re trying to make a change, few things are more frustrating than the gap between “action” and “results.” Many folks focus a lot on where they are right now and where they want to be. But they rarely get clear on what needs to be done to bridge that gap. This dissonance brings frustration, overwhelm, and doubt. Should I keep going? Am I doing something wrong? Does it take everyone else this long? When you are in the middle of taking action, and you’re not yet seeing the results you want, there are 3 possible reasons: 1. It’s too early: Whatever you’re working on, you just need more time. You need patience. You need to continue showing up. You need to simply not quit. 2. You’re doing the wrong action: In other words, your strategy is off. You’re doing something, but it’s leading you to a different result than what you want. You need to change your approach. 3. You’re not actually doing anything: I see this all the time on coaching calls. People have ideas, but they’re not actually doing the work. (I also admit do being in this position myself from time to time.) This is when you are spending lots of time thinking and planning, but almost no time executing. You have to show up, undistracted, and be present in your work. Which of those 3 is you right now? . . . The good news is that, no matter which one you’re facing, they all have the same solution: 👉 Focus 👈 Focus is defined as both a noun and a verb. - Maximum clarity: knowing what truly matters in your life and career. - Alignment + Attention: The ability to direct your attention on those things that matter most. Clarity + Action is the formula for all 3 of the scenarios described above. Let me show you a quick example from one of our [Focus Course Live]( alums, Jenette McEntire. Jenette spent years struggling with reason #3. Instead of making progress on the numerous book ideas she had swirling around her head, she was constantly allowing the tyranny of the urgent to sidetrack her attention. As she put it: “I was at the beck and call of the urgent. My days were total servitude to these things that came flying at me all day long.” That all changed when she [enrolled in Focus Course Live]( a few years back. Within a few months of completing Focus Course Live, she had… - Finished writing her first children’s book - Outlined the first 5 chapters of a second book idea - Paid off $13,000 in debt (her family’s finances were another key area where she wanted to apply focus) It’s not like Jenette didn’t have a lot on her plate already. She has a demanding career. She and her husband were going through the grueling process of adopting. And, as I mentioned, they were working through debt. If you can relate, you need to [check out the short conversation I had with Jenette after she completed Focus Academy.]((It’s about 3/4 of the way down on this page.) She details exactly what made the experience more effective than the dozens of productivity apps, systems, paraphernalia she’d tried over the years.
