Hello! Shawn here. And welcome to this week’s edition of the 2x2 Newsletter. Your premier Friday email for creative professionals like you who are doing the important work that matters while also protecting your free time to enjoy life! I’m glad you’re here. Check this out 1: Apple Notes Pro Tip: Shared folders make sharing notes easier Did you know you can share a whole folder inside of Apple Notes, and then any new note you create within that folder is shared with whoever has access to the folder? This is how my wife and I collaborate on things like grocery shopping, packing for trips, end-of-year giving and shopping, house projects, etc… 2: [Why you should build a Reward System]( Le Cunff shares some excellent insight (and science) behind what is an absolutely critical step in living a healthy, focused life. In my experience, having a reward system in place also helps us stay more focused on the important activities and responsibilities of our life. Something to think about 1: Many people aren’t taught the tools they need for the most important things in lifeThings such as how to have healthy relationships. Or how to manage your money. How to take care of your body. How to be in control of your schedule. How to accomplish your goals. We are told that these things are important. And, if we are fortunate, then we may even see these things modeled for us in our life. But we are rarely actually given the skills, mindsets, and information we need in order to live them out in our own life. 2: Good Enough or Truly Great? There are some areas of our life where being good enough is good enough. But for other areas, we ought to consider striving for greatness. It takes significant effort to move something from good to great. And for some things in life, that effort is worth it. - Do you want a good marriage or a great one? - Do you want to be in good shape or great shape? - Do you want a good body of work from your career or a great one? It’s up to you. Think about your most important relationships; your sleep and your physical health; your emotional health; your mental health and creativity. Seeing even just a 1% improvement in those areas of your life that matter most is worth the effort… from good to great is worth the work. Decide what areas of your life you want to be great. Focus on those and happily allow the other areas to be good enough. * * * Until next week, — Shawn P.S.
