[DONATE NOW](   Justice for Jayland Walker March Recap Last week, Black Voters Matter joined a coalition of organizations that were committed to fighting for justice and equality for a march to demand justice for Jayland Walker. This march was born out of our collective anger surrounding the grand jury’s decision not to indict the eight officers who murdered Jayland Walker. This was just one example of a larger pattern of systemic racism and police violence that had plagued our society for far too long, so we gathered to demand action. We called for the Department of Justice to open an investigation into the Akron Police Department, a federal investigation into the murder of Jayland Walker, and for those accountable for his death to be fired and prosecuted.  In the spirit of change and justice, we marched alongside advocates for Justice for Jayland Walker and all victims of police violence in Akron, OH. Together, we raised our voices, demanding an end to the injustices that have impacted our communities for far too long. We believe that together, we can make a difference.   Black Liberation Fund Hosts Justice Weekend Social Justice Conference Join us and the Black Liberation Fund in South Carolina for “Justice Weekend”, a two-day social justice conference from June 2-3 at Trident Tech College, Charleston, SC, focused on economic, criminal, and gender justice, as well as community mental health. Led by experts and activists, the workshops will cover issues pertaining to mental health and well-being, gender resources, disability accessibility, and more. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and make a difference. [LEARN MORE](   Fighting for Freedom and Liberation this Pride Month As Pride Month begins this June, we extend warm wishes to our resilient LGBTQ+ community! As we celebrate our diverse identities, we must also confront the 490+ anti-LGBTQ bills that have been introduced during the 2023 legislative session. These bills target everything from civil rights, to free speech, to healthcare, to public accommodations, to education, and more. Let's remember that Pride was born from resistance, and we stand united against these attacks. Together, we will fight for freedom, liberation, joy, and pride without exception, supporting the LGBTQ+ community and ensuring a brighter future for all.   Volunteer with Black Voters Matter Dallas Joint Runoff Election Get ready to make a difference in the upcoming Dallas Runoff Election on June 10!
