Are you prepared for the upcoming elections happening in your state? [Black Voters Matter logo]( Friend, Are you prepared for the upcoming elections happening in your state? Tomorrow will be 75 days until the general election on November 8. It is crucial that voters are prepared with a plan to get out and vote. Here at Black Voters Matter, we are committed to making sure that all communities have the resources and knowledge that they need to cast their ballots this November. [If you or someone in your community isn’t sure if they are registered to vote or how they are going to vote, we encourage that you check out our voter toolbox.](  To help our communities prepare for Election Day, our voter toolbox features key resources for voter registration, requesting your ballot, signing up for key election updates, and more. [VISIT THE ONLINE VOTER TOOLBOX](   We are bringing back our Georgia Warrant Clinic! After a very successful summer of warrant clinics across the South, we are very excited to bring our warrant clinic back to Georgia this weekend.  Our warrant clinics are crucial in helping to restore suspended drivers licenses, which open the door for increased access to things like employment, housing, and voting. By reducing fees, fines, and barriers in this process, we are able to make sure that our community members have what they need to succeed.  Check out the video below to learn more about the importance of warrant clinics and the incredible work we did earlier this summer. [WATCH THE VIDEO]( If you are based in Georgia, please join us at our warrant clinic in Macon-Bibb this Saturday.   Happening today! Join us for a virtual teach-in on ranked choice voting. Today, our Policy Manager, Rhyane Wagner, will be joined by BVM Co-founder and Executive Director, Cliff Albright, and students of Harvard University to discuss ranked choice voting. Together they will explore how it can impact the primary process in future elections. [Join us live via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube at 6:30 PM ET Tonight!]( [FACEBOOK]( [TWITTER]( [YOUTUBE](   Healthcare is on the ballot for Black rural families in Georgia Over the past 11 years, nine hospitals have closed across rural Georgia. This has caused countless residents to have to travel between 25 to 90 minutes to receive the care that they need. This gap in healthcare coverage is impacting countless Georgian's, 36% of whom are Black.  This Saturday, August 28th, we will be on the ground at several of the locations where rural hospitals have closed to host rallies and pop-up health clinics. We are gathering to call on state legislators to take action and expand Medicaid. Our legislators must prioritize ensuring equitable access to health care that will save Black lives in rural areas across the state.  Join us at one of the following locations across Georgia this Sunday! - Calhoun: 1-3pm, 949 Pioneer Road, Arlington, GA - Hancock: 3-5pm, 453 Boland St, Sparta, GA - Peach: 1-3pm, Hwy 49, Fort Valley, GA (Old Peach Co Hospital) - Randolph: 1-2pm, 361 Randolph St, Cuthbert, GA - Stewart: 3:30-4:30pm, 580 Alston St, Richland, GA    Join us in the Cause Village at the Made in America Fest this September! We’re back for a cause! Come see us next weekend at “Made in America'' for their annual music festival in Philadelphia. This year we will be joining other nonprofits and social justice groups for their “Cause Village,” a dedicated hub for social action at the Made in America festival, celebrating the power of local and national organizations.  Check out below the list of participants that will be a part of this year’s festival! [GET TICKETS]( Stand up for democracy!! As we head into the 2022 midterm election season, it is more important now than ever to ensure that the voices of Black voters everywhere continue to be heard.
