We will continue to push and build a movement. [Black Voters Matter logo]( Friend, Last week, BVM brought together dozens of local and national advocacy organizations to lead #DemocracyHypocrisy voting rights actions across the U.S. as part of a national campaign urging President Biden and the Senate to pass voting rights legislation before Congress goes into recess. We began with a hunger strike by 20 students with Un-PAC Arizona and ended with a protest at the Global Democracy Summit where President Biden spoke. Actions happened all around the country in states like Arizona, California, Delaware, Georgia, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We will continue to push and build a movement to demand #RightsBeforeRecess. [SHARE ON TWITTER](   It’s about community: Warrant Clinic Recap Last Saturday, we stopped by Raleigh, North Carolina, for our warrant clinic in an effort to reduce fines and fees for thousands of people in North Carolina that have active warrants. These warrants prevent folks from obtaining a driver’s license and even the right to vote. With the help of our partners at Orchid Bloom NPO and Growing Real Alternatives Everywhere (GRAE) NOW, we were able to eliminate many of these warrants for people to have a fresh start! This isn’t just about voting, it’s about making sure our people have access to the things they need and help remove any barriers in their way. It’s about community. Check out footage of our folks on the ground at the Warrant Clinic and hear from a woman who got her charges dismissed!   Marching On Moral Monday This week, BVM was back in DC demonstrating with our partners for the Moral Monday March - an event that directly called on President Biden and legislators to pass The Freedom To Vote Act and other key voting rights legislation. Our National Field Director Wanda Mosley was front and center leading demonstrators on Capitol Hill. Check her out:   Donate to BVM and Win a Trip to Scotland!
