Dear Undefined, There is a fine line between being your worst critic and beating yourself up. Letâ?

Dear Undefined, There is a fine line between being your worst critic and beating yourself up. Let’s get this straight… THE MARKET DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOU You are not stupid when you lose money...and you’re definetly not a genius when you make it. This is a numbers game. Play the hand that gives you good odds of winning, and see how it unfolds. If you make a bad trade, review it later, but don’t let it impact your next trade. Check this out… The other day I bought I KODK ...it was on Thursday actually. I picked up 10K shares at 16.41. I felt like it was holding up well after some negative news, and that it could spike to 17. And you know what? Did exactly just that. But I didn’t take profits… I got greedy, thinking it could squeeze even higher. So when the price dropped on Friday… I decided to PICK UP MORE shares. I added an additional 5k shares at $16.06. Well...I probably don’t have to tell you how the story ends. I mean, I didn’t take profits in the 17s when that was my target. Instead, I added to the position when prices dropped. Needless to say, KODK didn’t bounce and I ended up getting out at $15.15. These mistakes ended up costing me $16K in trading losses. And while I’ve made about $2M this year, it’s the careless nature in how I lost which is upsetting. It’s a good example of how a good idea can turn into a bad trade. Also goes to show you how important discipline is to your trading. The key is to brush off the bad trade, recognize what you did wrong and move on. DON’T FOCUS ON LOSERS. Instead put all your energy on the best setups, the most profitable looking opportunities—and try to figure out how to replicate them. That’s how I’ve been able to make $10M in trading profits by age 30. What are my best ideas and trading practices?
