2024 Hey . Your besties at Zikoko have resumed for the year, so weâre back to our daily 4 p.m. gist sessions. Iâm stoked! Meanwhile, fuel really saw all our âNew year, new meâ posts and decided to follow the memo, because why did I wake up this morning to hear we may soon buy it at â¦1200/litre in Nigeria? =.DI8gqh4lIK7yOfNSZXednEY-fDGz9TibeRnF5ygo9pU âBefore I moved to Lagos some months ago, Iâd heard stories about how âmadâ the people are, but I wasnât prepared for the level of insanity Iâve seen so far. I knew my biggest struggle would be the yellow buses, conductors and drivers. Maybe it was beginnerâs luck, but I didnât have issues with them at first. They all seemed nice and always tried to involve me in conversations, which I didn't mind most of the time. That was until one particular day when I sat in front, close to the bus door. A man was sitting beside the driver. When we got to his bus stop, I had to step down to let him leave. Unknown to most of us, the driver had parked wrongly and was trying to get out of there in a hurry. According to him, I was too slow to get back in, so he proceeded to scream at me, hurling insults and ranting about how I wanted him to get arrested. I was so shocked I started crying. Since then, Iâve seen and experienced worse situations that always make me pause to wonder, âWhatâs wrong with Lagos people?â â Rii. Your story could be the next one featured here.
