Also: Here’s why men avoid blind dates. [View in browser](=.U4G7ApaTAvFAgBLW6XUzVsYT8URzVkmH59QYLKOVgqY) [Zikoko Daily] 26 June, 2023 Hey . I’d love to claim that if I earned ₦810k every month, all my problems would be over. But with how adulting and capitalism work, there’ll probably always be something more to want. Take this week’s #NairaLife subject, for example. She gets that sweet amount every month but rated her financial happiness a 5.5. Why? All she thinks about is bills. Tell me something you like about this story. It's not even about how much she currently earns but the little steps that led to it and the relationships that made it happen. A consistent pattern in the story is how she always had people in her corner. A family friend helped her get her first job, which launched her career. She lived in a new city for five years without having to worry about rent. Her friends had a role to play in her job switches. And a working relationship that started in 2017 is still a valuable source of income for her. Putting in the work and having the right people is always a powerful combo, and this story reinforced this belief for me. My own is where she talked about her mum selling her gold to meet their needs. This was common with our parents. Who has money now to buy gold for rainy days? 😭 LMAO. Tife, let’s be serious, please. Oya, sorry. How long did the interview take? Two hours, eight minutes. At least, 20 of those minutes were spent talking about the things we had in common. She was really fun to talk to and was gracious with her time. I wanted to scream, but I remembered I’d also used a similar duration for one interview. Yeah, time passes during the interviews. Also, it's my favourite part of the process, so it's easy to get lost in it. Then transcription/writing the story comes and pours water on your head. 😵 [Read her NairaLife here](=.kWBCS9pSM5lcd6U1Nk8PmHZXFjljeC1YXcXtu0hf8Co) *We'll be tweeting answers to this on our Twitter account at noon, so feel free to tweet us your answers with the hashtag [#ZikokoDailyQuiz](#) --> Zikoko Daily's Top 3 Why Nigerian men avoid blind dates You want a typical Lagos man to agree to a blind date when he knows full well there’s a chance of bumping into the ex he showed shege? LOL. Not happening. That, and the other reasons in this article, is why they hardly do blind dates.
