[View in browser]( On the [Logistics Performance Index](, African countries are ranked between an average of 1.77 and 3.43 out of 5. Hey there, When it comes to doing business, a crucial consideration for businesses as well as consumers is the ease of moving goods and services. One way to measure how countries perform in this regard is the [Logistics Performance Index]( which assesses the ease, speed and simplicity of logistics in different regions of the world. The 2018 index ranks African countries averagely; this signifies that there’s still some catching up to do when compared with the rest of the world. Approximately[53%](of roads are still unpaved and tech-enabled logistics is still a fairly nascent sector. However, challenges often reveal opportunities, and Africa’s logistics sector is no exception. On Friday, July 15th at 11 AM (WAT), we’ll be hosting another edition of TechCabal Live where we’ll be speaking with experts to discuss the state and future of the industry. They’ll be throwing more light on the barriers plaguing the growth of logistics in Africa, how startups, corporations, policymakers, and other stakeholders can collaborate toward addressing these barriers, and how to drive the penetration of tech in traditional logistics. This conversation is open to logistics companies, startups, investors, policymakers, e-commerce platforms, and everyone who's curious about how goods move across Africa.
