Did your favorite book make the list? Connecting millions of bibliophiles with the finest bookseller

Did your favorite book make the list? Connecting millions of bibliophiles with the finest booksellers in the world since 2003 Collecting Children's Literature by year: 1970-1979 As the country recovered from the triumphs and tragedies of the 1960s, the 1970s ushered in a changing society and culture. Epitomized by images of bell-bottoms and disco fever, political turmoil wracked the United States with the Watergate scandal, the ongoing Vietnam War, Cold War, and the energy crisis and oil embargo in the Middle East. The women’s rights and the civil rights movement continued to grow around the globe. Although there are many well-known books for young children from the 1970s, a distinct difference between books meant for children and books meant for young adults appeared during the decade. Mirroring the popularity of adult literature with satirical, biting works by Kurt Vonnegut and horror stories by Stephen King, the growing genre of young adult literature began to deal realistically with issues like drugs and sex that had previously been ignored and considered too taboo. Although some of these are beloved still today, many of these titles and authors are still on the challenged or banned books lists. Did your favorites make the list? What did we miss?
