Peace and happiness through healthy eating. View this email online [click here](. I often get asked, "Isabel, what foods do you buy at the grocery store?" The foods I buy may change a bit week to week depending on what I'll be cooking, but there is a list of staple foods I make sure are always in my house and never run out. Coconut Oil Coconut oil is an absolute staple in my house. From cooking and baking with it, to using it as a hair and skin moisturizer (yes!), I'm surprised my kids and I haven't turned into a coconut yet. This source of medium chain triglycerides is one of the best healthy fats to ingest to boost your metabolism and support your weight loss. It is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, keeping your immune system powerful and keeping you nice and healthy. Almonds I love almonds, and so do my kids. Every week we make homemade almond milk and use it for smoothies, baking, or just drinking it straight out of the glass (delicious!). We also use whole almonds for on-the-go snacking because they are easy to carry around alongside a juicy apple. My kids always know I have a little bag of almonds in my purse for any situation where our next meal may be a few hours away. Omega-3 Supplement While this one may not technically be a "food," I never want to go without it in my house. Just last month, I very generously gave my dad my last bottle of Omega-3s... a week before my next shipment arrived. After just one week without it, my hair and skin felt so dry and I could not figure out why. Well, it turns out it was the missing Omega-3s, because once I started them back up, it was almost like magic — I had shiny soft hair again. Wow! That's some powerful stuff. [Omega-3s for weight loss, joint health, and beautiful hair and skin — get yours HERE »]( There are only a few supplements I recommend people take daily, and a high-quality Omega-3 is at the top of that list. I take one Omega-3 capsule three times each day (with breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and make sure to take it with me even when I travel.
