Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple did something every single day that helped him be successful in achieving his goals (and it was kind of a bit strange).
Steve Jobs wore the same outfit every single day. Yes, the same turtle neck, blue jeans, and New Balance sneakers, every single day.

Now why would he do something like that, and why would it even matter?
Well, Mr. Jobs was very aware of something we all have the potential to suffer from and it was this:
Every time you make a decision, even a very minor one, you expend mental energy. If you make too many decisions in a short time frame, your ability to make good decisions significantly reduces.
This phenomenon has been termed, âDecision Fatigueâ and each and every one of us is at risk of suffering from it.
I see this happen often to people as they're trying to make good eating choices every day. They spend most of their day debating,
âShould I have the yogurt or the oatmeal?
âShould I go low carb or low fat?â
âShould I eat the cookie or not eat the cookie?â
And the mental turmoil goes on and on.
Can you imagine how much easier Steve Jobsâ morning was, when he could just pull out the black turtle neck, jeans, and sneakers, and put them on with NO thought required?
I have implemented the same strategy in my own life. No, not with clothes (I like me some style, you know?) but Iâm using the exact same strategy with my breakfast every single morning.
Mornings for me are the most hectic time of the day. Can you relate??? I start pretty early, and have to get a TON of stuff done before 9am. Exercise, shower, make breakfast for myself and my kids, and get the kids ready for their day. Again, can you relate???
I know your morning may look a little different from mine, but around 99% of the people I talk to about losing weight, tell me how hard it is for them to start the day off with a healthy, fat-burning meal.
If this sounds exactly like you, I highly recommend that you âSteve Jobsâ it.
Right now Iâve been eating the same exact breakfast every single day of the work week for the past several months. This strategy literally TRANSFORMED my mornings. No brain power or extra energy required. I know exactly what I need to make my breakfast and I know it takes exactly 5 minutes (literally) to throw it together.
The following is my tried-and-true breakfast strategy.
I eat Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal every single morning; I love this breakfast!
Hereâs how I make it:
- On Sunday, I make 5 servings of oatmeal. (1/2 cup dry oatmeal cooked in 1 cup water xâs 5 = 2.5 cups dry oatmeal cooked in 5 cups of water)
- Next, I divide it into 5 even portions in containers. I add ¼ cup pureed pumpkin to each container and sprinkle a little pumpkin pie spice into each one. I then store all of them in the refrigerator.
- In the morning, I dump one container into a small saucepan over medium heat and heat it up for 2 minutes (you can use the microwave if you like, but I donât use it).
- In a bowl, I combine 1 scoop Spring of Life Plant Based Protein powder with about ¼ cup water and mix the protein. Then I add in the oatmeal-pumpkin mixture....
- ...and then I EAT!!!!!
The amount of time it takes me to set the meal up in the morning is less than 5 minutes. This breakfast also travels easily in a sealed container if you need to rush out.
This meal is incredibly easy because there is minimal preparation; all I have to do beforehand is set up the oatmeal and pumpkin for the week. The protein is already done for me because I use my favorite protein powder, Spring of Life Plant Based Protein.

Many times, the protein is the hardest thing to grab and go in the morning and this plant-based allergen free protein makes that super simple!
But Isabel, I like variety.
I totally get it. If you enjoy variety in your meals, but donât want to make any decisions when it comes to meal time, you can use any of the completely done-for-you meal plans that come with your Beyond Diet program.
