The 4th is wonderful — but TODAY is really special to me. Hello, {NAME}! As incredible as 4th of July celebrations are… It’s actually the 5th of July that gets me REALLY excited. Why? Because my family uses our leftovers to make the most delicious salsa! Now granted, when it comes to 4th of July leftovers… SALSA may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But it’s a much healthier alternative to most of the usual suspects. Take hot dogs, for example. By now, you probably know these ultra-processed meats aren’t exactly “healthy”... And it goes without saying — anything with that many preservatives is sure to to rob your skin of its healthy, youthful glow. But hotdogs are ALSO notoriously high in sodium — which can put you on the fast track to puffy eyes and facial bloating. And as for burgers? Well, I have to admit, I love a big juicy patty every now and then myself… So I don’t expect you to shun them altogether. HOWEVER, when red meat is cooked at high temperatures (like on a grill), it releases harmful compounds… Which can destroy the key structural proteins in your skin. Thankfully, the salsa recipe I’m about to share is EXPONENTIALLY better if you’re concerned about aging skin. Because not only does it taste amazing… It’s also chock-full of some of the most skin-loving ingredients around. So if you happened to buy WAY too many burger toppings… Grilled one too many ears of corn… Or just want to add some refreshing flavors to your recipe repertoire… This recipe is for you:  My “beauty-boosting” 5th of July Salsa Recipe Ingredients: - 4 tomatoes, diced - 1 red onion, finely chopped - Kernels from 1-2 ears of leftover corn - 2-3 garlic cloves, minced - Juice of 1 lime - A handful of cilantro, chopped - Salt and pepper to taste This dish couldn’t be easier to make. Simply combine the above ingredients into a big bowl… Give it a mix… And you have a delicious, versatile topper that compliments almost any dish you can think of. If you like your salsa a little on the spicier side (like I do) feel free to jazz up the recipe with a jalapeno or two. So there you have it — a creative, easy, and skin-friendly way to help clear out your fridge. Personally, I love this salsa with eggs… But it’s great with BBQ too. (Last year, we used it on top of leftover grilled chicken. So, so good!) Now if your family is anything like mine… This salsa will get gobbled up in the first sitting. But if you happen to have leftovers, they’ll be just fine in the fridge for up to a week. Of course, it’s not just your tastebuds that’ll be happy with this delicious mix. Because this salsa features a powerful cocktail of vitamins and antioxidants… Like lycopene from the fresh tomatoes… Quercetin from the red onion… Vitamins A and E from the corn… And vitamin C from the lime juice. Together, these nutrients help fight skin-aging free radicals like UV damage, pollution, and stress… While supporting your body’s collagen production for skin that looks more smooth, tight, and radiant. See, skincare isn’t just about what you put on your body… What you put in your body is important, too. So give this colorful recipe a try, and let me know how you like it. :) Your Beverly Hills MD, Dr. Payman Danielpour P.S.
