{NAME}, Recently, I had a patient who needed my help severely. It wasn’t a typical case… Monica had just gotten out of an abusive relationship. And the painful memory of it, including a badly-broken nose, was right there in the mirror every day. But also to share her story, in hopes it could help someone else. Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects an estimated 10 million women and men yearly. 1 in 4 women — and 1 in 7 men — experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetime. (And chances are, those numbers are underreported, because coming forward is incredibly difficult.) Nobody deserves to go through the pain of domestic violence...
