Dear {NAME},
Today Iâm going to let you in on a European beauty secret⦠and I promise you, itâs one that you wonât read about in any magazine.
Itâs something I learned during an unforgettable trip back in 2015.
But, what started off as an interesting DIY⦠has now led to a major skincare breakthrough.
And today, after years in the works, Iâm so excited to share this labor of love with you â just in time for the new year!
But first, I need to explain exactly what makes it so special.
You see, Dr. Layke and I pride ourselves on traveling far and wide to research the latest in skincare.
From Australia to Japan to Switzerland, and all over our very own United States â weâve discovered the best âlook youngerâ solutions arenât always found in a lab.
There are all-natural beauty aids to be found all over the planet...
So we take it upon ourselves to find them!
And if youâre a longtime BHMD subscriber, you may remember how thrilled I was back in 2015 when I finally got to travel to Bulgariaâ¦
To investigate one of the most powerful natural ingredients in the skincare world.
So in light of todayâs exciting development, letâs revisit what happened during that trip.
Flashback to The Rose Valley
It all started when I came across an article in a travel magazine about the Rose Valley â a region in central Bulgaria, with a world-famous rose-growing industry.
What caught my attention, though, was that the oils and extracts from these roses were among the highest-quality in the world.
Now, rose oil has many different uses, but is perhaps best known for its wealth of skin benefits.
So, naturally I wanted to explore this rose-growing culture firsthand â and booked a five-day trip to Bulgaria before I even finished the article!
Arriving in a Beautiful Land
Fast-forward a month or so, and after a lengthy flight and two layovers, I touched down in the capital city of Sofia around 6am.
I took a bus to my destination, which was about 4 hours away from the airport.
Sure enough, the Rose Valley was every bit as beautiful as it looked in pictures. Rolling hills, green pastures, a mountainous backdrop, and of course, sprawling fields of blooming roses.
Unfortunately, I didnât have much time to sightsee. I had my first meeting scheduled that afternoon with Pavel, a local rose grower, whose family had been in the rose industry for generations.
An Introduction to Bulgarian Roses
The first thing he did was take me to see his rose fields, where he explained that what I was looking at were Damask roses.
Damask is a rose species that only thrives in a few parts of the world â but the extract from this rose is more potent and aromatic than any other.
Indeed, I could feel just how succulent these roses were just by touching them.
Over the next four days, Pavel introduced me to other growers, showed me around town, and gave me a rundown of all the locally-made goods rose is used in â the majority of which turned out to be skincare products and cosmetics.
The âYouth Flowerâ
Now, Pavel was a great guy. He was funny, friendly, and hospitable, and spoke great English, but what really impressed me was that Pavel â a 6th-generation farmer â seemed to know more about skincare than some of my colleagues in the skincare industry.
He told me about the many ways rose oils and extracts can drastically improve oneâs complexion when applied directly to the skin...
All of which I later fact-checked to be completely accurate and even confirmed by hard clinical research.
One of the first things I learned was that rose extract is actually proven to increase the skinâs permeability.1
This means that it allows skin to better absorb and retain moisture⦠as well as all the active ingredients in your favorite anti-aging products!
Thatâs a major, major advantage â and one you canât get from most other natural extracts Iâve studied.
But that was just the beginning. What I was about to learn from Pavelâs wife Ada would prove to be the most exciting part of allâ¦
Adaâs Secret for Beautiful Skin (At Any Age)
During my short trip, I was also introduced to rosewater, when Pavelâs wife, Ada, was making a homemade batch in the kitchen one evening.
Ada said rosewater has many of the same benefits as rose oil â but because itâs lighter, rosewater can be used more liberally and is wildly popular among Bulgarian women.
It makes a great toner or an ultra-hydrating facial spray to cool off with, she told me.
When I did some further research later on, I learned that rosewater actually has a few more skin-saving benefits.
Itâs rich in antioxidants â molecules that strengthen and, amazingly, actually protect skin cells from skin-aging environmental damage.2
No wonder Ada looked so young!
I really wish Iâd had more time to spend in Bulgariaâs Rose Valley region. My new friends even tried convincing me to stay through the first week of June â when the Rose Valleyâs annual rose festival takes place.
But duty called and I reluctantly boarded my flight back to California.
Of course, I wasnât going home empty-handed. Just as Iâd hoped, exploring the skin benefits of the Damask rose inspired many new (and very exciting!) ideas.
Fast-Forward to Today
Since that trip, you may have noticed weâve introduced two rose-based formulas into our Beverly Hills MD line:
Deep Regenerating Stem Cell Moisturizer â a luxury moisturizer designed to build up skinâs resistance to the signs of agingâ¦
And our Rose Stem Cell Daily Cleanser â an advanced antioxidant cleanser that âwashes awayâ the dayâs damage.
Both are made with the stem cells of the exceedingly rare Swiss Alpine rose...
A different (but equally incredible) rose known for its resiliency against the elements⦠making it an excellent ingredient for warding off signs of aging.
So itâs no surprise these formulas are some of the most popular in our BHMD line. Those who use them report simply incredible âlook youngerâ results!
But even with these amazing accomplishments, I still never got over âthe one that got awayâ:
The Damask Rose
...the rare variety Pavel had introduced me to in Bulgaria.
Whatâs so amazing is that, while the roses we buy in America usually whither within a weekâ¦
The Damask Rose is one of the longest living roses on the planet â with a lifespan of about 50 years!3
No wonder itâs so outstanding for keeping skin looking young â because it stays âyoungâ itself for an AMAZINGLY long time.
And â get this â its age-battling effects are so potent, itâs been shown to rival some of the most powerful antioxidants known to science.4,5
The catch is, it can only be grown in very specific climates, by highly-trained growers like Pavel and his family...
It takes 2,000 petals to produce just one drop of the beneficial essence of the rose6...
And the molecular properties of this rose are so unique, there is no synthetic substitute available7â¦
Which is why so few skincare lines offer high-purity Damask rose formulas.
And up until recently, we werenât able to do it either.
Then, 1 year ago â almost to the day â Dr. Layke finally found a supplier who was able to cultivate the quantities we would need to supply the entire BHMD family with the precious Damask rose extract.
Right then and there, we decided to finally create a special Damask rosewater to add into the Beverly Hills MD line...
With all the luminizing, hydrating, and skin-protecting properties I had been so impressed by during my trip.
Today, Iâm so pleased that my âdiscoveryâ back in 2015 has finally come full circleâ¦
And I can proudly introduce to you this true labor of loveâ¦
Beverly Hills MD 24HR Hydrating Rose Mist
Thanks to its high concentration of Damask rose â one of the truest âwondersâ of the natural skincare world â this is a rare and deeply special treat for your skinâ¦
And once you begin using it â and see the incredibly fresh glow it can give skin of any age â youâll understand why.
But... thatâs not all.
In fact, the Damask rose is just the beginning of what makes this formula so special.
There are actually two other reasons this formula reaches so far above and beyond the lesser ârose potionsâ you might find on the market:
#1) Jania Rubens: âThe Skin Energizerâ
We found the Damask Rose reached peak performance when combined with another rare plant called Jania rubens.
Jania rubens is a sea plant thatâs naturally high in taurine⦠an amino acid that skincare scientists have nicknamed âan energy drink for your skin.â
Thatâs because it literally energizes skin cells, resulting in an incredibly youthful glow almost immediately after application.
But thatâs not this plantâs only skin-boosting benefit. The specific preparation of Jania rubens we chose for our formula is proven to:
- Provide 24-hour hydration8
- Reverse âtired-lookingâ skin9
- Reduce dark circles around the eyes10
- And even increase protection against skin-aging pollution⦠by an unheard of 138%.11
It was clear Jania rubens would take our Damask rosewater from an amazing âlook youngerâ solution â to an unbeatable âlook my YOUNGESTâ breakthrough!
#2) The Ultimate Delivery System
Like Ada recommended during my trip, we decided to formulate our rosewater blend as a convenient âmistâ that could be used anytime, anywhere, by anyone...
To instantly give skin fresh hydration, a luminous glow, and a healthy, youthful look â in just seconds.
That means you can use it at any step of your skincare routine, or throughout the day⦠whenever you need a boost.
You can use it to quickly bring âlifeâ back to your skin during a tripâ¦
Throughout the day at work or at homeâ¦
While youâre out running errands or at a special eventâ¦
You can even use it if youâre already wearing makeup, without melting it awayâ¦
Some early users have even found itâs an incredible makeup primer â saying it helps their foundation glide on flawlessly (and keeps it looking radiant and youthful all day long)!
However you decide to use it â 24HR Hydrating Rose Mist is a part of the BHMD line I recommend to absolutely everybody.
No matter your age, skin concerns, or what other products youâre currently using⦠I believe this unique and rare solution can bring beautiful new vibrancy to any complexion.
