Which is why we need to hold them accountable. Americans don’t need “thoughts and prayers” – they need swift, bipartisan action to make communities safer. My Democratic colleagues and I have been hard at work trying to address this crisis, and passed the first meaningful gun violence legislation in years, but now that the GOP controls the House, they don’t want to engage us on it.
