We’ve passed not only the IRA into law, but: - CHIPS Act — I’m an original cosponsor of this now-law which not only creates more jobs in semiconductor manufacturing, but increases our competitiveness on the global stage in science and technology. - Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — The first law to protect Americans from gun violence to pass in nearly 30 years, it adds incentives for states to pass red flag laws, expands background checks, and expands laws that prevent domestic abusers from owning a gun. - Bipartisan Infrastructure Act — This law adds new jobs in modernizing our roads, bridges, and more. It also invests in electric vehicles and replaces lead pipes. - American Rescue Plan — This is what lifted us out of the main parts of the pandemic, getting shots in arms and checks in the hands of millions of working families. I’ve also introduced the End Tuberculosis Now Act in the House—because with the pandemic impacting health systems, about 1.5 million people worldwide have died of tuberculosis just in 2020—and I will continue fighting to codify marriage equality and access to contraceptives.
