Believe it or not, one of the top 3 or 4 copywriters on the planet is: Kim Kardashian. Yes, even though for all I know she probably has never even heard the word âcopywritingâ before. Even though she probably has never written a sales letter in her life. And even though she may very well not even know what a good ad was if it fell out of the sky, landed between her the cheeks of her surgically-augmented booty, and told her she smells like hope. So what makes her one of the best copywriters? Well, letâs just put it this way: Brands have offered her from as much as half a million to a million dollars for a single social media post on Twitter or Instagram. Think about that: A million dollars for a few sentences of copy, mentioning a brand nobody has heard of, selling some kind of hand bag, cosmetic, or other commodity that probably is not that much more intrinsically valuable than its equivalent at Walmart. Show me any copywriter â A-list or otherwise â who can do that. I donât care if you summoned the ghosts of John Caples, David Ogilvy, Gene Schwartz, Mel Martin, Gary Halbert, and Claude Hopkins, locked them in a secluded cabin in the woods with the top 10 A-list copywriters on the planet still alive today⦠gave them a year deadline to write a similar tweet, and all the market research modern technology can deliver.
