True story for the ages: Few years ago, Stefania interviewed the great Ken McCarthy for her customer

True story for the ages: Few years ago, Stefania interviewed the great Ken McCarthy for her customers and he told her an extremely fascinating story about how he got on the path to becoming Dan Kennedy’s “internet guy” — i.e., the ONLY person Dan Kennedy would allow anywhere near his audience to teach on the subject of internet marketing back in the day. Here’s the way I remember it: Dan was speaking at an event that Ken was also at. And, like most speakers, Dan was weary of and often fled the scene of anyone wanting to talk to him, drain him of his time & energy, and socialize with him during the event. On the smaller scale I’ve experienced this whenever I used to speak at events (I’d bring Stefania to be my “human shield” against such intrusions) I can only imagine how much more intense that’d be for a Dan Kennedy-type of guy. Anyway, nobody was getting Dan’s attention. Nobody was going to be his new friend. And certainly nobody was going to geek their way into his circle. That is, nobody except Ken. What Ken did was true “sales 101” — i.e., be useful — to create a relationship before even thinking about trying to create a transaction. For example: He didn’t ask anything of Dan Kennedy or want any of his time. He simply asked Dan if he needed anything, got Dan his tea, did some stuff for him to make his life easier and the experience of running a big event more smoothly. In other words, the exact opposite of what your typical goo-roo fanboy following someone into the hotel bathroom or haunting him when he's trying to check in would do. The result: Well, considering how “linked” Ken McCarthy’s brand and Dan Kennedy’s brand are (teaching at each other’s events, promoting each other, writing chapters for each others’ books, etc) I would say the results speak for themselves. More: Ken’s also had his ad copy featured in Dan’s high ticket seminars over the years, as well as in Dan’s magnificent “Ultimate Sales Letter” book. His copy has also been raved about by “Email Players” subscriber & the man who is universally considered the world’s greatest living copywriter Gary Bencivenga, too. And the late Marty Edelston (who hired many of the best copywriters in history to help build his $100+ million direct mail empire) once sent Ken some genuine “fan mail” about one of his sales letters. A sales letter that, incidentally, raked in over $10 million dollars ($1,000 per word ) — around $20 million in today’s money — before he retired the offer. Still more: What makes Ken different from all other copywriting teachers is he’s not just a “copywriter.” And he doesn’t just teach “copywriting.” No, where he shines is in teaching even people with zero copywriting or info marketing skills whatsoever how to (1) write irresistibly persuasive ad copy without needing to be a naturally “great” copywriter, and then (2) use that copy to potentially create 6-, 7-, & possibly even 8-figure info marketing businesses from scratch. Frankly, I’m living proof of this. When Ken found me, I was a moderately successful copywriter, and a complete failure as an info marketer. But after learning Ken’s off-the-wall ways, it did not take long to start winning as a freelancer in the internet’s most competitive niches (like weight loss, golf, self-defense, MLM, and biz opp…), while also starting to build what has since become my own 7-figure info publishing venture. And I can tell you right now: A lot of it was a direct result of what Ken taught me, based on his 4+ decades of experience building his own info businesses & writing his own sales copy — as well as his years studying advanced neuro-science at Princeton University and while competing in Wall Street, Hollywood, and the “cut throat” music business. (Where, for instance, Ken’s copywriting & marketing methods helped multi-grammy nominee Jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan begin his rise to fame.) The point of telling you all this? Ken’s offering his prestigious “Advanced Copywriting For Serious Info Marketers” course at a gigantic discount for my Horde only, until Friday, 1/12 at midnight EST. Plus, if you use my affiliate link and send me your receipt, the title of the book you want me to send you, & the shipping address by that deadline (not after — to be clear, you must send your receipt, shipping address, and the title you want to me, not just buy the course, BEFORE the deadline to get it), I will send you: 1. Free copy of any ONE book I sell I don’t care if it’s one of the bigger ticket ones or one of the more inexpensive ones. Simply buy Ken’s course by the deadline and then email me your receipt with your shipping address & the book you want me to send you (also by the deadline — if you send me your receipt, the title of the book you want, and your shipping address AFTER the above deadline, I am not sending you the book, let me be very clear about that here) 2. Live call with me and Ken about: The end of the world! Not only will we talk about copywriting (of course), but I want to grill him about the economy. Understand that Ken “came of age” in finance during the 80’s in Wall Street. I have learned more from him (and I told him this recently) about not just basic economics that is not taught in school than from anyone else, but he genuinely has given me a lot of peace of mind knowing what he does on this topic. Those who read this month’s Email Players issue will know what I mean by that. Not only peace of mind, but he has helped me position and adjust my own finances, what I invest in (it’s not investing advice, just by understanding what’s going on you can make better decisions), what I buy and don’t buy, how I think of money, how I am planning for the fallout of what’s been going on for over a decade and is about to completely unravel probably this year — maybe sooner than the end of the year, maybe later, but it’s inevitable — and the list goes on. This call (day & time TBA) will be live to customers of this promo. All right ‘nuff said about that. The deadline is Friday 1/12 at midnight EST to get Ken’s course at the discount, get any ONE book I sell (if you send me your receipt, shipping address, and the title of the book you want me to send you by the deadline, if you send the above to me after the deadline I will NOT send you the book, many-a-disappointed-customer who couldn’t tell time has learned this hard way…), plus access to the live call above. Hopefully that is all clear. Whatever the case, here is the link: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/secret-course]( Ben Settle This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
