Last month I sent out an email that gave advice to a Nigerian copywriter. Specifically, it was all about how they can be more trusted, write sales copy that doesn't get them deleted on sight due to stigma, & get clients & customers all in on them by focusing on what I described as a market-first vs marketing-first approach. And that email got me several more replies than usual. But two of the replies were more interesting than all the others. I’ll let you see why I say this for yourself: Response #1: “People are gonna be so mad because of the lack of specificity your answer provided” Response #2: “Wow, this is actually me you are talking about here. I was the Nigerian guy that sent you that message. It was last year I sent it. This is the second time I am seeing that email advice. Well, I had learnt from that message. I really want to say thank you.” Two totally different responses. From two totally different people. Who had two totally different experiences with the exact same email. Easily the most ironic feedback I've received all year. Anyway, there are two ways to get advice from me if’n that is of interest to you. One way is to be an Email Players subscriber, who can ask me email questions (about topics I can intelligently comment on). The other is to ask the right kind of question, at the right time, about the right kind of topic, that I know will make for good fodder in an upcoming email based on the offers I have in the hopper. So it never hurts to ask. But unless you’re an Email Players subscriber I guarantee no reply. However: If you do happen to ask the right question, at the right time, I very well may answer it publicly like I did in that email, or on social media… specifically inside the new BerserkerMail Mead Hall Facebook group the team recently put up, and about the only place (besides a local group for my town, which is the only place I can get local news) you will ever find me on that accursed platform. It is not “my” group, though. I say that for the citizens of my old elBenbo’s Lair group. So there won’t be any whacky social experiments going on or hyper engagement where people comment so much they’re assumed to be bots or anything I write about probably in my Social Lair book. Not only would Facebook tear the group down if I tried half the antics I did back then, but I don’t even have the energy and time to devote to such an affair of the mind and emotions anymore. Too busy getting real work done.. Okay, ‘nuff said. If you want to join the fun go here: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/meadhall]( Ben Settle P.S. I am unsure of how long this Facebook group experiment will last. With me in there, anyway, either by my choice of throwing in the towel or by decree from the gatekeepers. The reason: Within barely 12 hours of BerserkerMail Mead Hall Facebook group being launched, I was already shadow banned/warned by the platform (with a pop up) in my own group - with the content disappeared because I mentioned - just mentioned - Roosh V, telling the story of how he got kicked of Aweber that he wrote about on his blog a few years ago. So I edited it taking his name out, and it briefly appeared but then they Epstein'd that post yet again, but then it magically reappeared a little later so who knows... All I do know for sure is, I am way behind on FB's rules and ways. But I can already tell it's going to be a bit of a game. One of my BerserkerMail biz partners Troy Broussard suggested it's possible I have my own algorithm on there from my elBenbo's Lair days which definitely would have been disappeared like a friend of the Clintons if it existed today. My ego would love that if it is true, of course. But 99.99999% chance it's not nearly that secksy of a reason. More likely it's like Stefania has suggested, it's because my account is new, and so it goes... This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. Copyright © 2024 Settle, LLC. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
