“People don’t want to see the guy next door on stage; they want to see a being from another planet.” — Lemmy Kilmister Lead Singer of Motörhead Let’s talk about one of the single most powerful marketing, copywriting, and email marketing “forces” you can ever use/tap into. A force that not only can instantly make you stand out like a MAGA hat at Burning Man in even the most overheated-with-competition markets or niches, but also give you a nice leg up & boost in sales/engagement/response if you’re a total unknown in your market, just entering a niche, or have little or no recognizable brand whatsoever. I speak of a ridiculously powerful force of influence I never really see taught. And certainly not in any kind of depth. And, also certainly not beyond the superficial. This ‘thing’ I am talking about is something a very small handful of marketers (I can count them on one hand) are naturals at and just “do”… while even the few out there who are aware of it are either too scared to do it, or think it too silly to do it, and therefore never even consider doing it — much less applying it to their businesses. People are irresistibly drawn to this phenomenon I am referring to. Frankly, human beings with functioning nervous systems almost can’t help it. Thus, why it’s such a powerful tool for the cunning marketer to seize far more attention, engagement, sales, word-of-mouth, & opportunities that come about as a result of applying it on a regular basis. In my experience: Using this force of influence I’m obnoxiously teasing you about here is also something that can help make your emails be practically the only thing people notice in the inbox, help make your headlines & sales copy (stories, CTA’s, and especially your bullets) “pop,” and help keep your mind far more open to ideas the vast majority of direct marketers pumping out the same ol’ boring, plain vanilla “by the numbers” content that all looks, smells, feels, sounds, and tastes the same wouldn’t even think of. Okay enough teasing. I go into great detail about this in the upcoming November Email Players issue. Applying it can let your biz almost be seen as something from another planet. And this is the case even if you do plain vanilla emails, marketing, content now. Again: While I’ve been using this method of influence & persuasion & selling for a very long time in my own business… for some reason it’s not something I consciously thought about teaching until about a year ago when launching one of my books. But we’re gonna change that. And if I did my job right, I suspect my best customers who take it to heart and embrace it are going to be doing their marketing online a whole lot differently as a result. I spent a year thinking about, plotting out, and writing the November issue. And for those it’s meant for, I suspect it could be their all-time favorite. We shall see. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
