Or so I keep hearing anyway. Something about a big launch recently where the guy gave away so much free stuff a bunch of zoomers were nattering on about how they (literally) were in tears over it, how itâs changing the entire game forever, how nothing will ever be the same again, how businesses will be forever changed⦠Meh. The so-called Internet Marketing Syndicate was pulling this shtick 15+ years ago. And the reasoning was to give away their best stuff in hopes that people will think: âwow! the free stuff is awesome so the paid stuff must be INSANELY good!â Was amusing when both goo-roo fanboys & customers fell for it then. Itâs even more amusing watching people fall for it now. I had a client who fell for the same routine â did this thing were they gave away 3 or 4 pure value videos, asking for nothing, then finally made a pitch. Was supposed to be some kind of revolutionary marketing strategy they learned from one of their goo-roo pals⦠and I specifically remember telling them itâd be a waste of time. And, just as I told them, it resulted in very few sales compared to not just selling the offer. It probably sounded cool at the mastermind it was taught at though. More: Do what you want with the following. But I remember being privy to some other guru-typesâ numbers back then via friends & peers who wrote the copy for the freeline boys, and/or who were in the same masterminds, etc with some of them. And the stories I heard were not pretty. Weâre talking sometimes upwards of 50%+ refund rates and chargebacks so high merchant accounts were shut down. That is admittedly totally hearsay. But the sources were reliable for other things I know about. But, really, does anyone really doubt it? There were some who legitimately made variations of the freeline work (Email Players subscriber Ken McCarthyâs yearly System Seminar sales campaigns did it magnificently, in a way that made sense). But it took years for normies to catch on to how weak moving the freeline is as a long term game plan. Even otherwise-intelligent marketers clung to it far too long. And even in their cases, from what I can tell at least â the only reason for that is because they could get away with it, as they had massive audiences who worshipped the ground they walked on who will buy anything if their guru tells them to. Regular mortals who did not have those assets? They either had to learn how to sell or go under. When I launched Email Players â teaching totally against moving free lines â the thing my customers generally benefited the most from was selling to create prosperity for their businesses vs thinking they can just keep giving away stuff to create prosperity, which is as futile as the government thinking it can spend its way to prosperity. Which brings me to a pitch of my own: The October Email Players issue. The entire issue is about my approach â honed over many years, and sanded down to a smooth, sparkling finish where itâs now routine to sell very high ticket content without moving any freelines â to creating & selling content you can charge a premium for, with so much inherent Value people wouldnât dream of ignoring it. Like anything, it just depends on your business, your offers, and your situation. But that is my goal of the October issue for my boys & ghouls. And I daresay if you did nothing but take what I teach inside its crisp pages to heart, and aggressively apply it⦠you may potentially never have to worry again about your business making money with content, creating more engaging content, or caring one iota about competition using AI, fapGPT, etc to create content. Just the opposite, in fact. Okay, so the deadline is in a few days if you want in on time. To subscribe go here: [httpsâ¶//www.EmailPlayers.com]( Ben Settle P.S. Iâm also including an extremely valuable bonus with the October issue: âHow To Use World-Building & Sociological Marketing To Become A Niche Unto Yourselfâ Hereâs the scoop: Since I have been getting a lot of questions about the last two issues (about World-Building and Sociological Marketing) from Email Players subscribers & BizWorld readers⦠I wanted to keep the discussion going in this 12-page bonus, which was recorded as an interview for Email Players subscriber Ray Brehmâs private customers. These ideas are not directly related to the content creation approach inside the October issue. And yet, if you take that kind of content and rapidly implement it within a World you create around your business your audience loves being in and doesnât want to leave, itâs almost like 2 + 2 doesnât equal 4 but more like equals 4,000. Here are some highlights inside this bonus Iâm sending with the October issue: * The âracistâ policy I strictly adhere to in my World-Building that makes liberals squirm while drinking their pumpkin spice lattes safely behind their homogeneous gated communities. * How to sell offers to your list that 99% of the people on it couldnât care less about buying much less using. * The powerful World-Building secret of a small retail shop owner I know who has everyone from street prostitutes to Hollywood A-list actors and actresses (and their stylists) clamoring to buy from her, wanting to hang out at her store, and telling her all their problems. * The #1 biography I suggest to business people that I use for getting the best ideas for my own business World-Building endeavors. * Why chasing money, metrics, and algorithms like a chicken with its head cut off is probably the single worst way of doing business ever invented by all of goo-roo-dom. * A âlitmus testâ for knowing if youâre doing World-building correctly just by the kind of questions your leads and customers ask you. * A cunning way for helping to make sure your businessâs audience has lots of fun buying your offers, consuming your information, and dealing with you day in, and day out. (People tend to love to buy from businesses that make buying fun⦠and this is one surefire trick for doing just that, which probably anyone can do.) * Advice (none of them ever wants to hear, but too bad) to marketers who want to have an email or other kind of writing-centric business but have trouble motivating themselves to write. * A government-sponsored TV show that is probably the single best âtemplateâ for having a successful Sociologically-driven business within a World people love to enter and hate to leave. * How I choose who to JV with and who I wonât JV with. (Iâve turned down JVs with good friends as well as have done JVs with business people in my niche that are despised⦠and the reason has absolutely nothing to do with money, brand, reputation, or even the offer. Itâs all centered around servicing my Sociologically-build World in my business.) * Why I turn down appearing on probably 9 out of 10 âonline summitsâ I am invited to speak on â even those run by people I know, like, trust, and would otherwise like to do business with.
