This month's August Email Players issue was all about: âWorld-Buildingâ I have been writing about the topic publicly going back to 2014, and possibly even earlier. And over the past 9 or 10 years Iâve written many emails about the subject, gone deep into the subject in many of my books (including the book all about World-Building that I launched a few weeks ago: BizWorld), and have taught the subject via coaching, to masterminds, and on various calls many times. Iâve also been engaging in it most of my life â including my pre-business years. And of course one canât write 9 novels like my Enoch Wars stories, all set in the same fictional Universe, and not know a thing or two about how to build Worlds. Anyway, so that was the August issue. And those who possess that issue are fortunate indeed. Those who donât possess it are shyt out of luck. Especially going by the testimonials Iâve been getting about it. And I bring this up because the next issue â the September issue â is not so much a sequel to the August issue (i.e., it is not âaboutâ World-Building), but it is very much a âprequelâ to it. Which means you do not need the August issue to apply or use the info one way or the other. The subject of this upcoming September issue? âSociological Marketingâ (The kind of marketing that makes World-Building ultimately work) I first wrote about this in my best-selling elBenbo Press book. And it is yet another topic I had not seen any other marketer write about lo these last 20 years. I also doubt youâll see it taught at a mastermind or by some goo-roo prancing around the room at a conference or on stage at a seminar nattering on about numbers/stats/metrics that don't really mean anything to anyone but their own businesses, either. And for good reason. Because in a lot of ways, Sociological Marketing is antithetical to direct response marketing. And, also in many ways, for probably 90% of marketers (who engage in Psychological Marketing instead), it is NOT something theyâll likely want to do and will even be outright hostile to the idea. But I decided to teach it anyway in the September Email Players issue. And I decided to teach it, and drill way deeper into it than I did in my elBenbo Press book, for no other reason than to give you Options For Thinking Differently. In the meantime, Iâll just leave you with this: There are many people on my list who are baffled by certain decisions I make, certain things I do, certain policies I have implemented that supposedly should not work, but do anyway. A few over the years have said they think what I do is brilliant. But by far most I have heard from think what I do is insane, and makes no sense, because they have a lot trouble (or lack the ability to, I donât nowâ¦) thinking beyond the strangling ropes and constraints of Psychological Marketing â which is all that most who teach marketing engages in, teaches, and advocates. But Sociological Marketing is a totally different animal. Itâs not first about metrics, numbers, stats, tests, tracking or any of that. If anything it is the exact, polar opposite. I couldnât care less about any of those things, and they do not dictate what I do except under very rare circumstances â but even then itâs all done within the Sociological framework I do business inside of. Very upsetting to the Psychological Marketing guys when they hear me speak of it. But I have never cared much about what they think anyway. All right enough. This is quite the esoteric topic. I do not recommend subscribing in time for the September Email Players issue if you have trouble coloring outside of lines drawn by others, canât make a decision without consulting a spreadsheet, or if your entire journey in business is to appease your favorite goo-roo, your Facebook friends, or your horoscope. I will also say this: If the August Email Players issue bored or lost you, then this one will too. Like I said, the September issue is a âprequelâ to the August issue. And, ideally, Iâd have published this one first. But, due to the timing of my BizWorld launch, I decided not to. Okay, enough.
