I’ll make this slow & painful for the liberals especially: Many years ago when the media was hyping up yet another false flag handgun debate, I remember watching someone online turn the opinions of a bunch of “militant” anti-gun types who were in their emotions on the subject, who all refused to listen to reason, believe hard proof, or examine the facts. They would not even look at statistics with context - just parroting what CNN told them to say. But, after this guy did this one thing, many of these people started coming around. Or, at least, piping down. Some of them even totally “flipped” to the other side. What did this guy do? I’ll just put it this way: 1. He didn’t bother appealing to reason. (What would be the point?) 2. He didn’t cite any facts or statistics about how the Supreme Court literally said it’s not the cops’ job to protect you from anything. (i.e., at the time a police department got sued for not showing up fast enough, or something like that — this was a long time ago, but that was the gist of it). 3. And he didn’t insult or attack anyone. No, all he did was link to a YouTube video. A video that played audio of a long, drawn out 911 call recording where an innocent woman’s ex-boyfriend was in the process of breaking down her front door, with her pleading for her life for 911 dispatch to send someone to save her… with the guy hopped up on something not feeling pain, or pity, or even caring if anyone knew or heard. All he wanted to do was enter, rape, and then kill her. The video was 8 or 9 minutes long of her agonizing to the 911 dispatch over nobody showing up as the guy beat on the door, then literally begging for her life when the guy came in, and then being raped and killed in “real time” as it was being recorded. If you’re shaking your head at all this because you are disconnected from it, just imagine the above woman being your own mother, sister, daughter, etc doing the screaming and pleading. Real life isn't polite or an armchair ex-pert's Facebook comment thread. Anyway, it was very brutal. And even though this was many years ago it was almost impossible to “un-hear” that audio. Of course, a lot of people — especially women — who watched that video could imagine something similar happening to them, would realize hiding behind the usual vapid anti-self defense platitudes won’t save them from a grinning rapist or drooling psychopath any more than hiding under the bed would. And it was obvious if the woman had been packing and trained in how to use a firearm, her frothing-at-the-mouth, drug-addled rapist and killer would most likely have been in a freezer with a tag on his toe that night instead of her mutilated body. This was obvious to even the most stubborn lollipops watching it. And, thus, it flipped many opinions. Not everyone’s obviously. You will never change everyone’s mind. But, the principle behind what made it work can create persuasion miracles. Thus, the point of me telling you about this: My newest book “NOfluence.” I teaches how to use the principle lurking behind what made that audio work to sell, market, persuade, and influence the anti-gun proles and apply it to your marketing in a way that doesn’t really create any objections, and that can make it extremely hard for qualified leads not to at least consider doing whatever it is you are asking them to do. I don’t care if you’re selling a product or service, or if you’re trying to get your child not to make a stupid decision, or if you’re wanting to change the mind of someone who has a completely different ideological/ political/or any other point of view than he has now. Anyway, here’s the deal: After “NOfluence” launches it will sell for $600.00. But during this week’s launch (until Friday, August 18 at midnight EDT - check your time zones if you don't want to miss it, you been warned...) you can have it at a $100.00 discount (so for $500.00 instead of $600.00) off the listed price at the link below. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
