Behold this list-building lesson from ancient times: “...because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.” That ditty is from Revelation 3:16. And on the surface it has absolutely nothing to do with business or marketing or selling. Yet, it’s easily been one of the single best guides for list-building & curation I’ve ever used. It’s all there in those 37 words — about making sure everyone on your list is either hot or cold, and never lukewarm. Hot leads are just what they sound like: Hot. Hot to open, read, click, buy, and buy again. Cold leads are just what they sound like: Indifferent to your emails, couldn’t care less, probably intensely dislike you, and will usually leave quietly & peacefully, if they can resist sending you a drive-by snarky comment. But lukewarm leads? They’re the bums of the list world. They’re the reply guys, the freebie seekers, the complainers, the time wasters, and the hemmers & hawers looking to have their hand held, and who always have an opinion, some inanely stupid advice or suggestions, even though they haven't achieved jack themselves. They also always want everything fast, free, and yesterday, too. Frankly, one reason to mail your list the “Email Players” way is because, if you follow what I teach in the book I give to new paying subscribers and implement what I talk about in the newsletter each month… you are potentially more likely to (1) heat up the already-hot leads, (2) give the cold leads a clear reason to leave so they can find a list that better suits them (and go haunt that list instead of yours), and (3) influence the lukewarm leads to ante up and turn either hot or cold. Whichever they pick is fine. The goal isn’t a big list, it’s a responsive list. And by following my wily ways I believe many can see this play out. Let me give you a notable example of this. Some years back, Email Players subscriber Russell Brunson (who is probably the heavyweight champion of the world at building giant communities of red hot leads) at one of the Oceans 4 Masterminds I used to host with some of my pals told me at dinner: (paraphrased) “I couldn’t stand you!” Those may not have been the exact words (this was over 8 years ago). But that was the gist of it. In other words, he was a cold lead. Certainly not a hot lead, and definitely not Lukewarm. And yet, he told me in the next sentence that meeting me was one of the main reasons he went to the event. The point? While it doesn’t happen often (for me, anyway) you can turn a cold lead hot. But it won’t happen if you don’t mail often enough to build the relationship. You’ll know you’re doing it right when people leave cold, go forth into your market (whatever market you are in) get on the lists of lesser marketers who sell crap offers, then realize you were the real deal all along, come back, become a hot buyer. Have seen this pattern repeat many times over the years. All right enough. You either get that or you don’t. If not, I don’t know if I have much to add to your life. If you do get it, and if you want to see the email broadcasting/autoresponder platform for sending those emails that is not only “Email Players approved” but that I co-created with a Nuclear Engineer-turned-software developer & the #1 email automation guy on the planet… then see our BerserkerMail platform. Or, even better, see our free YouTube channel. We have demos, email trainings, all kinds of valuable content on there. All designed to show off what we got. And, yes, bring your business into our righteous fold should you choose to. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
