Once upon a time I moved to the coast, looked at that magnificent beach stretched around me, and decided I wanted a dog. So, each day Iâd go down to the dog shelter and walk a different dog. The dogs loved being walked, it helped socialize them (so theyâd be more likely to be adopted), and it was a lot of fun. I did this for over 6 months. Day in, and day out. And, during all those months, I still couldnât pick one I wanted. I liked most of them well enough. But, not enough to adopt. None were âmyâ dog. Then, one day, I went in and saw this long-bodied (like a hot dog) basenji-corgi mix. And, through the fence, we instantly âregardedâ each other. Like the farmer and pig Babe in the movie âBabeâ. (Except my dog didnât pee on me). I walked that dog, had a blast, took her back to the kennel, and then went home. That entire weekend I kept thinking about that dog. Usually when I walked a dog Iâd take them back and pretty much forget about them. But, not THIS dog. This was MY dog. And, both the dog and me knew it. So the next week I adopted her & gave her the name Zoe. And she was my constant companion for 15+ years until she passed last December. The point of all this? Itâs the same with picking a coach or teacher. You have to âwalkâ a lot of them to know which is the right one. You have to get on their lists, read their writings, watch their videos, buy their products, and spend time learning about them and, if you can swing it, talk to them. When you see the right person, whose style is in perfect harmony with yours youâll know it. You will simply regard each other. And, youâll know that person is who you want to learn from. I donât get asked about this a whole lot since I don't do one-on-one coaching. But when I do, the above is what I say. Nobody can tell you who to hire as a coach. You have to figure it out. And the above is how I recommend doing it. Which brings me to the June Email Players issue. I call it: âThe Last Zoe Tape.â The Zoe Tapes were 60 videos I shot walking her on the beach as I taught various business, copywriting, marketing, email, & other lessons. I originally posted them in my old elBenboâs Lair Facebook group. Then I put them in my mobile app and sold them there. (Theyâll be for sale again when the Email Players mobile app is up some day). And over the years quite a few people have bought or heard about those videos. And many of those people have flat out told me those videos are some of the most valuable trainings Iâve ever done. And with good reason: Because I held nothing back in them. Only reason I stopped recording them was because they were both too valuable to keep giving away for free and also, admittedly, because Zoe stopped cooperating as much on the walks. (Instead of walking ahead of me, sheâd stop and look at me). Thus the June issue which is the last, and most valuable, of these lessons. Itâs a stripped-down issue packed with strategies for business, marketing, and success (personal and professional) that is easily some of the most valuable training I have ever created. And it contains what I believe are some of the most powerful, and long-term successful strategies I can possible teach at this time. In my (totally biased, but no less true) opinion: Those who possess & read the June issue will have many advantages. Certainly the info has given my business many advantages over the years. And in many ways, the timing could not be better. Especially with the crap storm happening with the economy. The deadline to subscribe in time for this issue is almost upon you.
