First: Iâm far from being âantiâ tracking, testing, knowing oneâs numbers. Second: But, I am a realist about it as far as when to do it, when it's a waste of time, how it works. Third: I ainât the only one. Take, for example, my business partner in software Troy Broussard: A former Navy Nuclear Engineer (who had to do real science & testing, or something might blow up 3 miles out to sea), who was also the Encyclopedia Brittanica Executive Director of Technology running a $12 million department of developers who also did real science & testing with software, as well as has built multiple software platforms â including our BerserkerMail platform that has tracking & testing capabilities built-in based on all those years of his experience in tracking & testing email lists of 1 or 2 million people. Heâd tell you the same thing I will about the realities of tracking & testing. Same with my pal, the late Jim Yaghi (computer scientist, who, yes, also did real science, tracking & testing, and often laughed at most of todayâs internet marketers who think they're doing testing but have, as he'd say, "no idea the rigorous discipline a real test requires.") Or that anyone who doesnât trawl the make money online types fapping over other peoplesâ numbers all out of context will tell you: Nothing you track or test online happens in a vacuum. And also, just because something works for you, at a certain point in time, or even multiple times, doesnât automatically mean itâll work for anyone else, and vice versa, and another businessâ results/tests will not magically happen for you, and vice versa. I like how Email Players subscriber André Loibl recently put it: === That's why I don't get people who are obsessed with "sales-tracking". The final step they took to buy is seldom the thing that initiated the sale. They all are on a journey with me. Read me email, follow my telegram, see me on youtube ... I think the obsession with tracking is somewhat a denial (not the river in Egypt) of the complexity of people's behaviour. They want it all in a box to count. But I don't see it happening that way. People are weird and wonderful. Really looking forward to the April issue! === Thatâs how it works in my experience as well. This âmy tests show xyz works best!â was especially rampant 15-20 years ago. âThe Perry Belcher button works best!â âNever say âworkâ in your ad copy!â âRed headlines pull better than other colors!â âEnd your prices in 5, 7, or 9!â âPut the subject line as a link in your CTA!â âYou must use testimonials!â âYou have to offer a guarantee!â And the list goes on. Itâs not that those are inherently right or wrong, good or bad. They can even often make excellent beacons to start with. And it certainly doesnât hurt to see and study them. But over the years Iâve defied every single one of the above, and continue to do so, and have only seen my business grow. In fact, I am more likely to do the opposite of what the crowd is saying, insisting on, and doing â including what bigger platforms like Google recommend. Thatâs even what Troy mandated to begin with to our team when building our BerserkerMail platform â something he learned when he had a multi-million dollar SEO company that grew the MORE he defied what Google said to do. Anyway, point of all this: I ainât saying not to test or track if you have the numbers to work with. To have gotten that from this email is to have missed the point. All right on to the fun stuff: This attitude Iâm talking about is not outright talked about but is embedded throughout much in some way, shape, or form of what I teach inside the elBenboâs Bargain Bin of Bonuses 3 offer â which is a pile of content youâd have to ordinarily have paid $1,000+ to access⦠but that you can have for just $20.
