A couple questions about AI: 1. âHey Ben, Hope youâre good mate. Iâm curious⦠Why exactly do you think âAI poses zero threat to skilled copywritersâ? And⦠2. "Ben, I want to get your thoughts on AI - not in the doom n gloom 'It's going take over and make freelancers poor!' way - Instead, I want to know where you see this technology going, whether you are willing to use it and how copywriters can use it to put themselves ahead of the market. I personally use GPT3 to proofread and brainstorm ideas. PS: Thanks for all the free info you put out it's helped me to start freelancing so I can get out of the shithole I'm currently in.â My answer to these questions: fapGPT & AI, pose as much threat to a skilled copywriter as a human-like sex robot does to a guy with game, confidence, and charisma. i.e., zero threat whatsoever. In fact, if you have copywriting game look forward to the marketing Maynards using it. The high paying clients, the Players with Money customers, the skeptics who are discerning who they spend money with will simply gravitate more to you, and away from the lazy bums who think AI â which has zero humanity, true emotions, or can relate to the human experience buyers relate to, and never will â is somehow going to make them more attractive to buy from. People buy from those with humanity. They are more comfortable with people who show humanity. This is why things like being âun-okayâ works so well in sales. AI art, AI copy, AI prostitutes, AI this and AI that⦠It probably all has a place. But it will always lack humanity. Even Data in Star Trek ultimately lacked humanity no matter how hard he tried to gain it. And the only time he behaved human was when he used his emotion chip. But even then, he didn't know how to control it. And it landed him in trouble because he didnât know how to handle it. Reminds me of sociopaths I personally know who get on a stage, and they inevitably start producing the fake tears during their story, and youâll see instantly something in the milk ainât clean â by the timing of it, their facial reactions, and the way the crowd physically recoils back wondering what the hell is wrong with them. Iâve seen it over and over. Because they lack humanity, and have to fake it. And itâs no different with anything that isnât human that pretends to be. There will always be some people - usually the kind of customers most don't want - who buy into it. But not the discerning ones who have money, and make great long term customers/clients, who you can grow a relationship with over years and decades. So thatâs my opinion on AI. My biases are Iâm GenX. And, thus, I have a natural distrust of AI and have seen a lot of hype over the years. I also know that no matter how much SkyNet tries, itâll never beat the humans. And the reason why is precisely because it lacks humanity. Okay, ânuff said. You canât control the world of AI, fapGPT, etc. But what you can control is your own skill levels. And if learning the skill of copywriting is the plum youâre after picking, then see the upcoming King-Sized (way bigger & more content than usual) May Email Players issue. Itâs an intense page-by-page, paragraph-by-paragraph, line-by-line, precept-upon-precept analysis of one of my sales letters, that also includes a lot of ideas, thoughts, principles I have not taught anywhere else including in my Copy Slacker book â and with all the psychology explained, including with many tricks I use âon you.â The deadline to get it is tomorrow.
