A lot of freelance copywriters like using online calendars to book discovery calls. And that’s good. What’s probably not good is how many slots they have available. If you have a calendar program you send prospective clients to, try this: 1. Remove ALL open dates rest of month 2. Except 2 days 3. Have only one 25-minute spot open each of those 2 days 4. Make them as inconvenient of times as possible for everyone but you Why do this? Because it can be like client feeding frenzy bait. Example: When Stefania did this upon my advice a few years ago for her coaching business, she found it significantly increased not only the number of clients wanting to talk to her, but she got more respect, almost no flakes (far less at least - can never get rid of all of 'em...), etc from those interested. People unconsciously size you up by your demand (Dan Kennedy's "empty parking lot" phenomenon) whether they or you realize it or not. More: It is my contention that if you use the above tip in conjunction with my Email Client Horde book for getting lots and lots of client leads coming to your freelance business, then you’ll probably have a whole new business after applying the info over time. A lot of it depends on your business, of course. And how you conduct yourself, leads generated, your skill level, market place positioning ,etc. So I don't want to imply it's some kind of ninja magic trick. At the end of the day, you still require substance. But this is the sort of phenomenon my Email Client Horde book can help potentially create. Sale on the book ends tomorrow, Sunday 4/16 at midnight EDT. If you want another example of how have a "full parking lot" can bring you better, higher quality, clients almost by "default" - look no further than Email Players subscriber Andrea Dell, who sent me this just yesterday: === This week I emailed my list about how booked I am this week. I’ve got copy for one client’s funnel launch, I’ve got another client sending me several emails to write (plus asking me to review part of a sales page someone else wrote), more meetings than usual, a customized workout program that requires even more discipline and consistency to fit in, accepting a leadership role in a client’s company, and more. That’s on top of my retainer work. A client on my list I hadn’t worked with in months replied to THIS particular email and remarked that even though I’m clearly swamped (to paraphrase), she’d love my support with some email sequences. We’re meeting later in the month. It’s possible she would have reached out anyway, but the fact she replied to an email detailing how much I’ve got going on is hard to ignore. === Perfect example of how this phenomenon works.
