Stefania recently sent me a screenshot of a proud heifer hyping the benefits of being fat. Some of the highlights: * Fat is feminine - fat is dainty - fat is beauty living in a fat body I have been denied femininity. * Fat is ancient, ancestral, deeply beautiful and natural. * Fat is so much more than the butt of the joke, the dowdy sidekick, the ugly friend at the bar. * You can wear the flowy dress. * You can frolic in a field of flowers. * Your fatness shouldn’t deny you access to mainstream femininity. * Your fatness is not a problem to be solved. * The narrative around fat bodies is wrong. * Wear the damn dress. Well, okay, then.. Anyway, I found it to be a pretty good application of the great Barry Maher’s “Make the skeleton dance” philosophy of selling where you take the negatives of your offer and turn them into reasons to buy (a very useful tool to have in that copywriting toolbox of yours). Too bad it left out the really fun stuff: * Amputated limbs and aches & pains from aging 50+ years forward due to diabetes. * Risk of having a stroke where “trapped” in your body, not even able to blink (read about how the late Patrice O’Neal, it’s horrifying, like a movie you can't "unsee".) * Can’t tie shoes without holding breath * Can’t climb stairs or play with kids without being winded * Sleeping with a “face hugger” on just to not die in your sleep from sleep apnea * More prone to being killed by Covid * Always a bridesmaid, never a bride * Not able to escape during the zombie apocalypse (everyone knows the fatties’ll go first) * Yada yada yada… Another example of skeleton dancing is in Dan Kennedy’s 7-Figure Academy course about Remus Reid. It was meant as an example of creating spin without technically “lying.” And copywriters selling an offer with zero substance should take notes. First, the reality: * Remus Reid was a direct ancestor of Congressman Harry Reid * Was a horse thief sent to Montana Territorial Prison in 1885 * He escaped in 1887, and robbed the Montana Flyer six times * Was caught by Pinkerton Detectives and convicted and hanged in 1889 Now the spin from Harry Reid’s office: * Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory * His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana Railroad (stealing horses) * Beginning in 1883 he devoted several years of his life to government service (i.e., working in the prison yard) * finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad (escaped prison) * In 1887 he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency (was caught by Pinkerton detectives) * In 1889 Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed. (was convicted and hung) Amusing. And useful for those believing crookedness & corruptness can be "baked" into someone's DNA. One more example from an old school Jay Abraham ad that made lots of money: “You’ve probably read more than a few of the ads he has written for his clients, and appeared in publications with a combined readership of 178 million readers. His powerful sales letters and prospect lead generating mailings have been mailed to slightly over 125 million consumers and business men, something in the range of $1.5 billion worth of combined gross sales for the satisfied client.” Sounds impressive no? To the normies it’s probably off-the-charts impressive. Just like people who think “as seen in” logos are somehow impressive. But as Dan Kennedy puts it in his 7-Figure Academy Course (where Jay Abraham does a magnificent talk — worth the price of admission alone, imo): “Now, see that’s like brilliant use of. . .fundamentally meaningless statistics but great positioning statements. So, we’re pulling stats out of readership of all the magazines, but I mean, you know, it’s like wow. But, does it mean anything? No, it just means that he was good enough to get somebody to pay him to write ads that ran in all these magazines. It doesn’t really mean anything worked.” Anyway, the point of me yapping away about this? They’re all examples of spin. But, more than that, they are also examples of deliberately-crafted illusion. Well-crafted illusion can grant your business all kinds of benefits. Like, or example: Desensitizing would-be customers and clients to sky-high fees, selling offers that are not necessarily any “better” than other offers that don’t sell for nearly as much (and often have LESS benefits, even as people know it has less benefits, but don’t care and buy anyway…) Some do illusion ethically (they last the test of time) Others do it totally unethically (they don’t last the test of time) And one of the most valuable parts of Dan Kennedy’s 7-Figure Academy course is the long discussion he has about deliberately crafted illusion. Some of the examples he uses are ethical, some of them less-than-ethical… and some of them you will have to decide for yourself. But all of it is extremely valuable info for the business that wants to break into the 7-figure territory, as it’s one of the things 7-figure+ businesses do (I have had to do it in mine to get there, admittedly, as well) that 6-figure and below simply don’t do. But a warning: This, like all the course, but especially this… takes a lot of thought & introspection. There is no checklist handed to you. You gotta think, and apply, make mistakes, think, apply some more… And while Dan Kennedy covers lots of examples (and I even show you how I do it in my business — like a magician revealing his tricks — in the bonus training I am giving those who buy from my affiliate link and email me the receipt before today’s deadline) this will likely be the most challenging part to apply to your business. Maybe it won’t be, of course. But probably it will be. So go in expecting to really work at applying this course if you buy it. You can’t “swipe” illusion. You have to create it, craft it, hone it, and experiment with it. All right, if you want in, and at a discount just for my boys & ghouls, here’s what to do: 1. Buy the course with my affiliate link below by tonight Friday, March 10 at midnight EST. 2. Forward me your receipt by that deadline (you must send it BY the deadline to get it) You’ll get immediate access to the course, and I’ll send you the nearly 2 hour bonus about how I’ve been using the info for almost 6 years now to not only go from six to seven figures, but how I still use the info in my business ventures today. NOTE: you’ll need a smart phone to access the bonus. No exceptions. All right, here’s the link: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/se7en]( Ben Settle P.S. This course is not intended for newbies, amateurs, or goo-roo fanboys playing business on social media all day. Nothing I sell is. But that goes triple for this course. It’s not called “4-Figure Academy”, “5-Figure Academy”, or even “6-Figure Academy.” It’s called “7-Figure Academy” for a reason. It requires a lot of deep thinking, introspection, & hard work to implement. It’s short on checklists or tactics. And is long on strategies and big ideas. There’s a reason why Dan Kennedy is called The Millionaire Maker. And this course illustrates that reason as well as anything I’ve ever seen.
