It’s been a long time since I’ve done the freelancing thing. I officially exited it when I launched Email Players back in 2011. And other than a brief stint for a pal in 2016 working on his sales letter, I can’t be bothered to work on another business’ sales and growth and much prefer my own offers, software platforms, etc. But when I did do the freelance thing I never once had to “pitch” myself. Not that I can remember, at least. I got clients who didn’t come to me (majority of them) doing something else. What did I do? I asked questions. Got ‘em talking about their problems. And let them sell themselves on me. Example: A client was referred to me once and we got on the phone and talked a bit. And while they wanted to check my stuff out and were interested in hiring me based on the referral alone, they were not convinced. Until I asked, not as a trick or turn-of-phrase, just genuine curiosity: “How your guys’ emails doing?” Boom. I got a long, descriptive, very painful-sounding story about how their emails were not converting well at all, how it was destroying their progress, how the emails they did have were not engaging, not working, etc. From there I think even the newbest of newbs could close it. Anyway, I did not have any set questions written out. They were always based on the ebb & flow of the conversation. Mostly, I was in “how can I get rid of this guy” mode — as I for the most part (a few clients who I legitimately enjoyed working for notwithstanding) never really enjoyed freelancing, and only did it as a necessary evil. And even if I enjoyed the work, I did not enjoy spending all my time and skill on someone else’s business and projects vs my own. But, looking back, I do wish I’d had more of a set group of questions. Not “canned” to recite mechanically. But more like guides. And while I did have some (that I talk about in my Email Client Horde book), I don’t think they were anywhere near as effective as the ones I have since learned that Dan Kennedy uses on his clients. Plus, he gets paid something like $19k just to have them fly out, at their expense, to consult with him for a day just for him to sell them on why they should give him a lot more money by hiring him. That’s the sort of thing I did NOT do in my freelance days. Because I simply didn’t know how. If you’re a coach or freelancer, there is no reason you can’t do what Dan does. You may not get $20k just for the privilege of them hearing you pitch them. But by applying the principles he teaches in his 7-figure Academy course — and looking at the kind of questions he asks prospective clients towards the end (vert briefly, the course is not “about” this topic, but he does mention it, just to be clear here… this is NOT the focus, more of a throwaway bit of info he shares) I dare say your business can be much better positioned to get the bigger fees and projects than mine ever was. And, I would also daresay, what most coaches or freelancers can command. But you have to go through the entire course. Multiple times. Take notes. And rapidly & aggressively apply the info, make your mistakes, learn, rinse & repeat. No way around that. So don’t just listen and think “oh, I got it! on to the next thing!” If you’re going to do that don’t even bother wasting your money. The principles and strategies in this course can work for probably most all kinds of businesses. But there are some things you can do inside it if you’re a freelancer or consultant or coach that I believe can ratchet up them fees and your influence like nothing else if you invest the time and thinking required into it. Which brings me to the pitch: 1. Buy the course with my affiliate link below by tonight Friday, March 10 at midnight EST. 2. Forward me your receipt by that deadline (you must send it BY the deadline to get it) You’ll get immediate access to the course, and I’ll send you the nearly 2 hour bonus about how I’ve been using the info for almost 6 years now to not only go from six to seven figures, but how I still use the info in my business ventures today. NOTE: you’ll need a smart phone to access the bonus. No exceptions. All right, here’s the link: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/se7en]( Ben Settle P.S. This course is not intended for newbies, amateurs, or goo-roo fanboys playing business on social media all day. Nothing I sell is. But that goes triple for this course. It’s not called “4-Figure Academy”, “5-Figure Academy”, or even “6-Figure Academy.” It’s called “7-Figure Academy” for a reason. It requires a lot of deep thinking, introspection, & hard work to implement. It’s short on checklists or tactics. And is long on strategies and big ideas. There’s a reason why Dan Kennedy is called The Millionaire Maker. And this course illustrates that reason as well as anything I’ve ever seen.
