Recently, I decided to change up my social media game a bit. And that meant hopping back on Twitter after a 4+ year absence. If you want to follow my antics on there, the link is: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/twitter]( Or just use my handle elBenb0 (with a zero not an o) Anyway, a lot’s changed on that platform since then. Here are a few brain fart observations from just screwing around on there this past week: * The level of skepticism has probably increased by a factor of 100x! (People legitimately thought I was a bot — even my pal Shane Hunter sent me a text message to verify it was really me he was seeing and not some imposter…) * There are lots more young people there who stumbled onto early success without having to develop the “scar tissue” of experience foolishly believing their own PR, and few I've seen are even building an email list * Even more over reliance on Twitter as a platform — with entire businesses built around it * Quite a bit more people than before foolishly only linking in their bios to YouTube, TikTok, iTunes, etc and other platforms they don’t control or can export their audiences to, instead of an email list they can export and control. * Seems everyone and their mother has turned into a Philosopher King suddenly * Also seems to be a lot more rules now than there were before, at least for new accounts * Which is good, they’ve cleaned up a lot of the crap that took the fun out of it 4 years ago * There are way more tools for marketers than there were before * Which, paradoxically, might be creating the same problem too many technological options has created for a lot of email marketers (shifting peoples’ focus on soft metrics they can’t control like follower count, stats, etc, instead of the things they can control… or maybe my GenX is just showing..) * Still lots of thirsty men chasing the attention of anyone with a decent pair of bewbs on there * Lots of copywriters worried to death about chatGPT which is amusing * The cold email scamps on there would do well to learn thing or two about basic positioning & networking instead of haunting DM's all day So those are a few observations as an outsider coming back. For better or worse: It’s good to see Twitter is not being totally run by literal pedos and the propaganda arm of the DNC anymore. It always was a useful list building tool pre 2016-ish, before the cuckoos came out of the clocks, after which people started getting banned for merely fighting back against trolls. But so far that seems to have genuinely changed for the better. We shall see. Again, I will start linking to my livestreams there eventually. To stay in the loop with that: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com/twitter]( Ben Settle P.S. The change in my social media game is twofold: The other side of it is my private SettleHeads SocialLair page will soon be converted into a place just for paying Email Players subscribers, where subscribers will be able to post, have more freedom to do things to grow their own businesses, and be able to get a lot more value out of their Email Players subscription. I’m not entirely sure exactly when I’ll be switching that SocialLair around. Still waiting for the boys in the kitchen to bolt a few things on the platform for me. But when it does: All paying Email Players subscribers will get an email invite (sent to the email they subscribed with) on to join, as well as get access to the upcoming Email Players private mobile app — which already has well over 100+ hours of audio/video content inside. Best is yet to come for my loyal Email Players of the Horde.. This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. Copyright © 2023 Settle, LLC. All Rights Reserved. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
