A few months ago Email Players subscriber PK (full name withheld by request) replied to my email about how Facebook is basically the digital equivalent of the Old West opium dens: === Oh boy, If you say all that negative stuff about facebook, I'm sure you'll be excited to hear about tiktok. That platform takes all the cancerous things from instagram, facebook and youtube, combines them, and amplifies them by a factor of 10. The average attention span on this app is probably around 3 seconds and even that is a generous estimate. Hope you liked my little rant :) PS: I just wanted to say that your products are absolutely amazing. I just got my Copynomicon delivered (while waiting for the new EP edition) and I am currently reading it, really cool and good stuff in there. === I don’t have TikTok and you couldn’t pay me to put that idiot-bait app from China on my phone. It’s always been low IQ catnip. It also goes lock-step with the book "Unrestricted Warfare." (About how China has been waging war on the US since 1999 without firing a shot.) But it is useful in as much as the more any so-called competition uses TikTok, gets leads from TikTok and caters to the attention span guppies who watch TikTok… probably the more sales you’ll make and the more influence your business will acquire by using email. Certainly this is the case in my business. I have very few customers who use TikTok. And, in fact, someone who does would not even probably be able to use anything I sell. I can only imagine someone addicted to that app trying to slog through one of my 200, 300, or 800-page books. Or, even, the upcoming “King-Sized” (28 pages vs the usual 20 pages) January Email Players issue. Even if they did, what it teaches would be useless to them. It takes way too much thinking and concentration to use it. And, even though it’s super simple (and even obvious), they’d find it confusing. Speaking of which: It teaches an especially powerful way (literally anyone in business — brand spanking new or seasoned pro) can use to profit during harsh economic times used by arguably the most influential man of the 20th century to grow his own empire — so that your business doesn’t flail and wither away, but can instead grow and prosper the worse and more “f’d” up things get, with a customer base that is potentially far more rabid about listening to you, buying from you, and following you the farther the rest of the world sinks into despair. It’s not about milking money from misery. It’s about “transmuting” that misery into joy and peace of mind. Both for you and your customers/clients. But I have got to warn you: This one is not really a “how to” issue, as much as a “what to do” issue that requires thinking, introspection, and individual adaption to your specific business, situation, and market. I cannot do those things for you, any more than I can wipe your nose for you. Let the goo-roo fanboys take note. They will be especially disappointed by the almost “Pollyanna-ish” info inside that, I believe, can potentially blast a smart business owner’s sales & influence not just to the next level, but another 5 or 6 levels above that, even as the rest of the marketing world proceeds to keep doing what they’ve been doing, getting the same poor results they’ve been getting, while constantly chasing the same nonsensical bright shiny objects they’ve been chasing.
