Below is part three of my interview with Troy Broussard about his clever way of combining his system

Below is part three of my interview with Troy Broussard about his clever way of combining his systems & automation knowledge as a Nuclear Engineer, enterprise-class software developer, & API-level marketing automation specialist to trade in crypto currency. And away we go: === BEN SETTLE: What makes your approach to investing in crypto different from all the other ones that probably are causing all the skepticism in the first place? TROY BROUSSARD: Yeah, well that's the thing. You've got a lot of the crypto bros, right? You've got all these frigging 20 somethings that are just going crazy with the biz opp type approach. John and I, my partner in this venture, are both in our fifties. We both very much know and understand tech, but we're also very conservative. We're planning our own retirements at this point. We're not doing stupid things. We're not doing risky stuff. So we have a three-pronged approach. And we do these, if you think of a sign wave, the sign wave goes up and it goes down. Well if you've only got one sign wave, you're going to have periods where things are going bad. You're going to have periods where things are going great. But when you interlace three different sign waves on top of each other, something's always doing okay even when something else is not doing good. And that's really the way we approach it. So we break it down into investing in trading, which are very, very different and less investing is long term horizon, like four years or more out. And investing is like what people do for their retirement. They put a little money every month and they just don't touch it until they retire. That's investing. We have an automatic 100% passive approach to investing that's super, super simple that John and I teach, and that forms part of the process. On the trading side, we approach it from not the day trading crap that you're going to see all over the internet, of just how to get rich quick using these things. We do it with what we call smart trading, and it is very low stress, it's very easy to do, and it's something that you don't have to sit there and monitor the screen and whatever. It's just smart, strategic, longer term trading. It’s referred to as swing trading, where a trade might be open for a few days or even a few weeks. It's not something where you are trying to get out and get in and... Get in and get out on the same day with day trading min mindset and just glued to the computer. And then the third thing that we do, and this is kind of where my background and history really comes in, is I'm an automation guy. And so we use trigger trading with smart triggered buy-ins, but we also do fully automated bot trading. And this is something that I have the most fun with. It's how to programmatically and automatically just grab small chunks of profit, multiple times per day, sometimes dozens and dozens of times per day. I've had, I think at this point around 15,000 different bot transactions that are just going off in the background. And so those are the three approaches that we use, Ben. So we do a completely automated passive investment strategy. We do automated bot trading, and then we do semi-automated triggered swing trading. And when you look at all three of those, one of the keywords you heard a lot was automated. Meaning that this whole thing is done to be something that you can do in an hour or two a week of your time. And it's not something you've got to be just all in on and this is your only thing. It can be very, very low time commitment. And you don't have to do all three of them either. We have people that are only doing the investment side, and they're not even spending 15 minutes a week of their time on this. So it's kind of a, choose your own adventure. But we have three different legs of this three-legged table to make it as stable as possible. BEN SETTLE: Well, let me ask you something else here. So when you first checked out from reality and started playing with this, how did you come across this three pronged approach? Is it something you just stumbled on? Is this something you had figured out prior? What's the story behind that? TROY BROUSSARD: So the automated investing is a very common strategy. So that was something I knew about, and lots of people do it. The other two, the semi-automatic triggered smart trading, it's existed for years in the stock market. I just approach crypto with more of a stock market professional guy that's in his 50s mindset, than somebody that is 20 years old and trying to leverage the press on doge coin to make money online, quick wins. I just don't think of things like that. And so the other two aspects of this, the semi-automatic smart trading and the automated bot trading, those really come from best industry practices that I have adopted, but also, from my mindset of automation. And how could I reduce the time that I spend in front of the computer and still make really good money from it? And that's what really sent me down the deep path, Ben. Because I really believe that with automation, you can't automate a system until the system. You have to create the system. You have to do all kinds of massive iteration personally and painfully, quite honestly. You have to suffer the pain of doing it before you can try to automate around the solution. In order to automate the scenarios, you have to know the scenarios. And that means you have to experience. Experience means you take it in the shorts quite a bit and live to tell about it. And so that's kind of why I did it. I went deep down this rabbit hole with massive experience so that I could learn and find the nuances of how I could automate as much as possible without having to be glued in front of the computer. BEN SETTLE: Right. Because that's the last thing you want to do, especially after coding, or not coding but doing all the computers, the software stuff. TROY BROUSSARD: Yeah, well- BEN SETTLE: Screwing your neck up and all that. TROY BROUSSARD: You know very well. I have severe neck damage to the point I go to the chiropractor almost daily, and I sometimes just can't even work at all. One of the days this week, it was at Tuesday. I couldn't even work on Tuesday because my neck was just hurting me so bad. So yes, I have physical constraints as well and being stuck in front of a computer, there's nothing that would make that fun to me. I enjoy finding the nuance in the strategy that I can automate and just put that money in and go. And what's beautiful about this is, unlike the stock market, I wouldn't have been able to get this exchange if I was doing or this experience so quickly if I wasn't doing this in crypto, because crypto trades 24/7. There's no national holidays, there's no 9:00 to 5:00 in the stock market bell ring. Crypto is going 24/7. And when you think of that, that really lends itself to more automated type solutions because you can't trade 24/7, and you can't just leave a position open and go to bed and hope everything works out in the morning because hell, it can drop 15% overnight, and you can be stopped out and lost hundreds or even thousands of dollars by not paying attention. So crypto has its unique peculiarities. And instead of looking at them at disadvantages, I looked at it as how I can make it an advantage for me. BEN SETTLE: Well, now I remember when you were doing this at first because you were telling me all about it, and you were like, "Ben, I'll show you how to do this." And me, I'm just in this other existence at that point, not wanting to think about all this stuff. TROY BROUSSARD: We were in different universes. BEN SETTLE: Absolutely. But I know that you probably have shown this to at least some other people. And what happened when you showed it to some others? Did they start having the same aha moments that you did and say, "Wow, this is actually something I can do?" And what happened with that? === So ends part three. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
