I recently wrote in Email Players about Teddi Mellencamp. i.e., John Cougar Mellencamp’s daughter. And a while back Stefania showed me a YouTube video of a troll complaining about Teddi's high-priced weight loss coaching business. The troll was especially negative — all but calling her a Nazi, the "go-to" label all low IQ trolls call people they disagree with — about one of her offers that is coaching done, from what I can tell at least, primarily via text messaging. Just a daily text telling you what to do. And then you having to prove you did whatever she told you to do. If you didn’t do what she said? She kicks you out! And with no refunds. In other words: People pay her hundreds of dollars a pop and she literally punishes you into consuming and applying what she teaches. If true (I have not used the service, only read about it) I can’t help but admire it. I have even thought about doing something similar with Email Players. But then I think about how I’d have to interact with several hundred people or hire a team to and nixed it. But Teddie don’t mess around. And I’d say it may even rival one of the late Jim Straw’s offers (where he sold a 160-page, $995.00 eBook with nothing but PayPal, a basic html sales page, and plain text emails), as far as seamless and frictionless product delivery and maintenance. Very cunning business if ever there was one. And I can't help admire it. Does Teddi get trolls? Haters? Legions of people complaining about her on social media? Absolutely. But she also has an irrationally passionate & loyal fanbase she’s helped, and are “all in” (the name of her program) on her. Even though it hurts so good to go through her program, and hurts so bad even more if you don’t comply (i.e., several hundred dollars down the drain, with no refunds), she has built one helluva operation. The point of me telling you about this? There’s a lot more going on under the surface that is not obvious. Something Teddi is doing — not as a tactic, but as an ethic. Something that might let your business, too, charge high prices, with people feeling outright privileged to pay your high prices, and have the kind of repeat-buying & eager-to-buy customer base most marketers can only dream of with their desperate tactics, and scarcity thinking. More about this on page 10 in the November Email Players issue. The “secret” isn’t really even a secret. And I explain it in literally 20 words. But these words might as well be a secret. Especially considering how few apply them. Whatever the case, the deadline to subscribe in time is almost upon you.
