Once upon a time, my pal Ray Higdon posted about how he regularly gets people asking him about growing a business where they don't have to invest any money up front. His reply? "If you don't want to invest in yourself or a business, get a job." He ain't just whistlin' Dixie, neither. Free only gets you so far, after all. Which is one reason why I spend time in these emails and in my sales copy talking about businesses who should not be buying. Like freebie seekers. Or pathetic new product junkies literally addicted to the dopamine hit they get when they buy something new and who never do a blessed thing with info they invest in. Or people who want a "lazy" way to do the business. Yada, yada yada... It's not because I think they're bad business people. Probably, they are more or less swell boys & ghouls. But if someone is complaining about the "cost" of a product instead of looking it as a long term investment then they have no place at my table. Probably they belong at the kiddies table shooting marbles and smashing cakes into their faces with all the free reports and eBooks they accumulate, and talking tough about all their so-called knowledge on Flakebook or whatever. Most people really should be at a job. They really should be taking orders. And, they really should be told what to do, working their entire lives to give their boss and his family a lifestyle, instead of themselves and their own family a lifestyle. There's no shame in it whatsoever. Most people go their whole lives happily obeying their betters at work like a good little soldier, taking whatever scraps they get thrown from the table. Maybe that sounds a tad patronizing. But it's true if all you want is "free." In that case, maybe you should be at a job. Maybe you should work for a boss in a short sleeved dress shirt & tie with a clipboard promoted one level above his competency. And, maybe you should be carrying reports to your superiors for the next 20+ years of your time on this planet. It's your life, do whatever you want with it. Something to ponder during these hot, hazy July nights. Something else to ponder: If you want to know how to potentially sell your offers in a way where price is all but irrelevant, where objections don’t really occur, and where even those who never thought they’d buy from you, agree with you, or go along with you in a million years change their minds and hearts about whatever it is you want them to do (buy, vote a certain way, whatever it is), then gird up thy loins for the upcoming August Email Players issue. It’s by far the most the most political issue I’ve ever written. Yet, it contains zero rants. Zero personal attacks on my ideological foes. And zero mention (by me) of any specific parties or politicians. Just pure demonstration of arguably the single best way to sell ever invented. More on that in the August issue.
