One of my all-time favorite memes shows a fat guy taking a selfie at the gym, fresh sweat staining the front of his shirt, with the Snapchat caption that says: “Day 1 at the gym just finished taking a shit let’s start the workout” Amusing. But also useful. And timely. too. Because it’s not unlike when someone starts working out, sees quick results, then suddenly it seems nothing is happening, so they quit or needlessly switch to something else… only to continue to be frustrated, confused, and more out-of-shape than before they started. And one of the many things I write about in the upcoming June Email Players issue is how it’s almost like a trope in some cases with businesses doing the same thing — especially when someone joins my hearty horde and experiences this exact succession of events: 1. Business with list and offer subscribes to Email Players 2. Business starts making a lot more sales very rapidly 3. Sales suddenly slow down or stop altogether 4. Business complains, says the methods don’t work, and flits off to something else (social media, whatever the kids are saying is the new “thing” to do these days) And it’s a pity. Because it has nothing to do with the methodology. Even a weak email methodology will often “work” to some degree. And it’ll often work for no other reason than you’ll almost certainly get more sales sending emails than you will by not sending emails — assuming you have a list at all, and an offer that list wants and is willing to and has the ability to pay for. But the phenomenon is real. And the solution when it happens is also as real as it is simple. This also serves as a nice warning to anyone wanting to subscribe. I can almost guarantee you will experience the four steps above. In fact, how to deal with it is probably the most-asked question I get from my paying subscribers after the first month or so… and the upcoming June issue puts the proverbial nail in that coffin. No, it won’t solve all your business problems. And you might not “like” the solution. You may even find it “beneath” you. But often the best info is not fun and often too infantile-like for most. Especially those who clearly need to do whatever that info is saying the most. And it’s no different with the June Email Players issue. Don’t say you weren’t warned… If you still want to subscribe even knowing that, and in time for the June issue, go here: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com]( Ben Settle This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
