Over the last several years, I have noticed something about people who sell in the âmake money online!11â market. And that is this: They tend to buy in droves. And often mindlessly, without thinking, while drooling on the carpet. Figuratively, and probably even literally in some cases. But they mostly make terrible long term, hardworking, responsible customers. There are many reasons for this. Like, for example: * They ask dumb questions about things that are irrelevant â being caught up in whatever goo-roo term-of-the-month that gives them a half mast John Thomas at the moment, and without even knowing why theyâre asking the question * They rarely know even the raw basics of direct response marketing â I spend way too much time having to educate them on things anyone who is going to set themselves up as some kind of expert at âOMG making money online!11â should know * They are always in get rich quick mode â having little or no patience, expecting overnight wealth * They are impulse buyers and donât read what theyâre getting â many are either completely illiterate or too lazy to read even a few sentences of the sales letter (for example, demanding to know where their PDF of the âEmail Players SkhÄma Bookâ is, or asking if I can send each issue to them by PDF, when the sales letter clearly states there is no PDFs) * A lot of them are literally addicts who enjoy it enslaved to the dopamine drip they get when they buy something new â just like the people they sell to (or, more accurately, would sell to if they knew how to even make sales) * They havenât actually made any money online â and refuse to market honestly about it * They follow the dregs of goo-roo-dom â dropping names of people they stalk on Flakebook who arenât qualified to pour water out of a boot, much less teach marketing or âhow to make money online!1â * And the list goes on⦠I've even learned a mostly-accurate way to identify them: They have MLM-y words like "freedom" "wealth" "success", etc in their email addresses. It's such a reliable and consistent tell for these types, it's almost spooky. There may be a few exceptions to all of this. But, most of these blokes would be better off getting their dopamine fix from one of the many wannabes haunting Facebook all day showing pics of their rented mansions in 3rd world countries pretending to be rich and successful. Anyway, so thatâs why I donât cater to them. Nor want them anywhere near me â online, offline, or on the sidelines. That said: Itâs a whole other story for people in legitimate niches. Especially when it comes to selling online courses, specifically. Enter my pal Danny Iny. This is more his bag than mine. (I am a book & newsletter guy â not an online course guy.) And heâs doing a detailed webinar about how he does it on Tuesday (5/10) at 1:00 EDT. Itâs part of a big launch heâs doing for his course-building program. And unlike me, he's not much of a tease kinda guy with info always selling. He's a "give 'em lots of goodies" kinda guy on his calls. It's just his style, which people love. And while the link below is an âaffiliateâ link (for tracking purposes for his team), I do not get paid any commissions if you click it and read it and buy anything else as a result of doing so. No, it probably wonât do much for the make money online crowd. Then again, they got bigger problems...
