There’s someone I know from the copywriting “scene” who teaches it as a coach. But, who also admitted to me once — when I was going to do some business with them, and asked them to write some copy for a project we were JV'ing on — they’re not that good a copywriter, but just really good at getting clients. And thus, was scared to death of being thought of as a fraud. On the one hand, this person is tops at getting clients. On the other, it’s a dangerous spot to be in. Reminds me of a story I heard Dan Kennedy tell about when he first got into public speaking. He was so good at marketing that a respected long time speaker took him aside and said, “be careful with all this great marketing, all you’re going to do is speed up the rate at which people realize you’re no good.” Sobering thought. Especially if you are someone who coaches or teaches copywriting but know you don’t really know what you’re doing. This was rampant on Facebook back when I was on there, with all the so-called copywriting “experts” who have never really sold anything via their copy other than their own services for selling themselves as copywriting coaches. Yes, they probably mean well. And, yes, they probably are great at teaching how to get clients. But when it comes time to write an actual ad? Not so much. Anyway, that’s the bad news. The good news: My Copy Slacker book — in just the first 150 pages — can show you how to quickly start knocking out ads that make lots of sales and convert like gangbusters even if you suck at writing ads now, are overwhelmed with the whole process, and are insecure with the whole thing. It’s not only “slacker proof", it’s also copywriter “fraud proof” too. But, there’s only a little time left to get it at the fat $200 off the regular price discount ($524 vs $724) after which I am jacking the regular price up. The deadline is tomorrow, June 20, at midnight EDT. Go here to grab it while the grabbin’s good here: Use code: ROPER at the checkout. Make sure you see the price change before entering your info. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
