âIf I don't earn $50,000 a month, I'll slit my wrists.â So said one of Sean DâSouzaâs colleagues once to him, that he related to the audience at the System Seminar talk he gave that I have been ranting about like a lunatic all week. The topic was âhow much is enough?â As a lot of online marketers see big goo-roo numbers, launches, war stories and I think they might get a bit of John Thomas envy. Like maybe, perhaps, they should be doing better and thinking grander, when all they really want is to make a nice comfy living, and donât need the big jets, lambos, and lifestyle. If thatâs you, donât envy them goo-roos. Itâs all a big facade and always has been. And anyone whoâs been in this business long enough knows it â along with the horror show that goes on behind the scenes of up to 50% refund rates, affiliates not being paid, even sometimes jail time, and all kinds of other drama. Another thought: In Ken McCarthyâs magnificent System Club Letters book he has this bit about the typical goo-roo publicly counting their money while crowing about how they âmade X dollars in just one day!â and how he is FAR more impressed by someone regularly bringing in $5,000 per month than someone who once made $50,000 in a day one time. As the $5,000 per month guy has a solid base to build on and the $50,000 in a day goo-roo probably canât repeat it. Could not agree more. The zoomers who have made a lot of money on social media really quickly over the last few years who are now in free fall mode (I saw one guy threatening to end his life on Twitter after some crypto prices fell, said he had his whole life built around it, I couldnât tell if he was joking or notâ¦) are the best cautionary tale I could ever point Willis to when he comes of business age. I donât know what my point here is. Other than these two things: 1. If you have that âgreed geneâ only caring about money you should suppress it 2. Focus on building a foundation, build up on it day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year, and decade by decade and you probably will not have these giant dramatic ups and downs, worrying if you made x amount one month or getting depressed if you donât, avoiding debt treadmills, and all around just enjoying life more Thatâs been my experience at least. My business partner Troy Broussard told me Iâm a âshrewdâ businessman. I think he was referring to how I choose to invest in things. If I am shrewd itâs because I donât have that greed gene. I stay out of debt, save cash, and invest that cash in things I think are cool. Some of those investments take years to see any fruit. Some happen much faster. But the ones that take years, I am okay with taking as long as they need. I am playing a long game, and far more relate to $5k month guy than $50k in a day goo-roo, even if my business has far surpassed $5k a month 20 years ago, and that I have had many $50k days and much higher than that. When it happens great. When it doesnât, thatâs okay too. My business is on solid ground either way. And circling back to Seanâs quote above: From a purely structural point of view (how I structure my offers, approach my sequence of what I sell, etc), itâs on solid ground in many ways because I have spent the last nearly 16 years following a lot of what he taught in the System Seminar talk he gave that year and in his pricing eBook â both of which you can get your non-greedy fingers on still until tonight. If you want this knowledge, hereâs the drill: 1. Go to my affiliate link below by tonightâs impending deadline 2. Buy the premium version of his eBook (it costs only a couple bucks more than the normal version) 3. Youâll get his System Seminar training as a bonus This offer ends at the stroke of midnight (EDT) tonight, Sunday 8/9.
