A bizarre email exchange about my fiction for those interested: === QUESTION: I love the code [discount code “AZRIEL”] ben! Are you a Sarah J Maas fan or you stumbled upon the name Azriel some other way? Please message me back because I'm dying to know elBENBO: Never heard of her. Azriel is the name of the main character from my Enoch Wars novels I started publishing over 10 years ago QUESTION: OH YEAHHH I remember first hearing about your novels on Chris Haddad's podcast, definitely going to read! Azriel is also a silent assassin/ spy from a popular YA fantasy book series. He's kind of a hearthrob character for the girls so I thought it was a silent nod in his direction lol. === Let the record show: I named my Enoch Wars series main character Azriel before the above YA author gheyed the character name up — as the first of my 9 Enoch Wars novels was written way back in August - December 2013 and then published March 2014. Speaking of which: That first novel (Zombie Cop) is now free in the Enoch Wars mobile app. I have the eBook in there, the audio book in there, and even the screenplay in there. There’s no email opt-in necessary. And no registration is required other than to download the free Learnistic app. If you’re a copywriter you might also find this useful: The introduction was written by the great A-list copywriter and quite possibly the world's single most prolific author of business books Bob Bly, who said amongst other nice things about the novel, “I’ll just say that if you like fast-paced commercial novels — with nonstop action and compelling characters revolving around a cool story idea that is a fresh twist on an established horror subgenre, zombies — Zombie Cop is for you.” If you already read (and enjoyed) the novel you might like it even more now. Why? Because this is the recently rewritten version (that I rewrote after writing the screenplay last year, and realized the screenplay was much better…) that is half the length of the original. But I would argue (and those who have read it agree) it is much better than the original, is much more accessible than the original, and while it’s the same story as the original it probably will feel like a totally different book in some ways than the original. And I explain why I went through all the time and trouble (and the logistical nightmare…) of rewriting the entire novel in the "Appetite for Punishment" author’s note in the beginning of the eBook version inside the app if’n that interests you. Okay enough of this. If you want to read it free go here: [( NOTE: You will need a smart phone or iPad to access the app. Ben Settle P.S. The Enoch Wars app also has writing — including fiction writing — and other business-related tips, ideas, training in it as well. So even if you have no desire to read any of the books, or think the whole genre stupid, you may very well get a lot of value and insights just from the ancillary training and ideas inside I am always adding to.
