A while back, Email Players subscriber and the founding father of online marketing Ken McCarthy sent me a link to an article about legendary military leader Sun Tzu. (Author of the infamous “Art of War”) And it showed advice he gave a king for dealing with rebellious concubines. The short version: Ol' Sunny told the king to pick 180 ladies out of his palace, with his favorite concubines leading them. Sun Tzu then ordered the General to give the ladies some very specific commands that probably sounded kind of silly to be making them do (had to do with military salutes and formations). And, probably because the commands were a bit silly to them, some of the girls started to burst out laughing. After double checking to determine that the orders were clear (to makes sure it was not the General’s fault)… Sun Tzu immediately ordered the king’s favorite concubine leaders to be beheaded! The king, of course, objected since those concubines were his best cooks. And, thus, he was worried his food wouldn’t be as savory. (A very reasonable & understandable objection, I’m sure you will agree.) Anyway: Sun Tzu didn’t listen and beheaded them anyway. Then, he commanded new concubine leaders to take their place. And, after seeing what happened to the first two concubines after not complying and not taking his orders seriously, these new concubines obediently and strictly followed his commands with nary a laugh or even so much as a smirk. After which Sun Tzu sent a messenger to the king declaring: === “Your soldiers, Sire, are now properly drilled and disciplined, and ready for your majesty’s inspection. They can be put to any use that their sovereign may desire; bid them go through fire and water, and they will not disobey.” === I suspect this email is getting all kinds of reactions. From a few eye rolls. To some sob sisters being offended. To a handful of guys laughing. But what Sun Tzu did to influence those he wished to persuade to not only do as he bid them, but do it in a way where there was no chance of them NOT taking it seriously… was in strict accordance with the subversive principles of influence & persuasion I teach in my book “NOfluence” on sale today about how to help give people almost no choice but to buy from your business. And don’t worry. You won’t have to behead any concubines — good cooks or not. Nor will threats, force, or violence in any way be required. But, I believe the info inside absolutely can potentially help you change the hearts & minds of many of those you wish to influence and persuade to buy from your business, to do as you command, and, yes, do it with 100% obedience and even an eagerness towards doing it — whatever that may be. I don’t care if it’s business or personal, either. It’s all the same in the end. And people are people. With all of us susceptible to this way of influence. Yes, including Yours Unruly. Do it right and no manipulation is likely to be needed. No objection answering is likely to be required. And, in some cases, no enumerating of benefits or claims are likely to even be necessary. Extremely powerful stuff. To use it simply read “NOfluence.” Then practice what you read inside. And then make it a “part” of what you do in your business day in, and day out. During this week's sale (until tonight Thursday, June 20 at midnight EDT - check your time zones if you don't want to miss it, you been warned...) you can have it at a $100.00 discount (so for $500.00 instead of $600.00) off the listed price at the link below. Here’s the link: [( Use code AZRIEL at the checkout for the discount. Ben Settle P.S. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
