I don’t know how many businesses on my list hire copywriters. But, following is some lovin’ for those who do. Many years ago, one of my clients was telling me about all the hoops a writer has to jump through to keep things legal and compliant in sales copy in the health & supplement type offer niches he sells in. And the money shot quote he dropped was: “Imagine a big pharma executive with the FTC in his hip pocket reading this ad deciding if you’re competition or not…” Basically word-for-word what his FTC specialist lawyer told him. And now, dear client, I pass that on to you. You can probably adapt that line to nearly any niche or situation with some thought. And if your copywriter has any common sense at all, he’ll hammer out better, more compliant, and less-likely-to-require-heavy-editing copy than he normally would -- especially if you’re in an industry or niche that is heavily regulated by the alphabet agencies, and that is cornered by multi-billion dollar companies just itching to sic their hellhounds on you. Something else: That line my client told me is also in strict accordance with the method of persuasion and influence I teach throughout my book on sale today “NOfluence” — which shows how to sell without creating objections and possibly even without necessarily even needing to fire off a bunch of benefits, claims, or bullets. I also have found doing this, as long as you are honest, helps keep copy “legally clean” — although these days I still highly recommend having sales letters run by a good internet marketing attorney like Email Players subscriber Mike Young no matter how clean you think it is. (Word to the wise and all that) Sometimes one sentence or two can absolutely close a sale. With a happy, compliant, and eager-to-use your product or service customer created. During this week's NOfluence book sale (until tomorrow Thursday, June 20 at midnight EDT - check your time zones if you don't want to miss it, you been warned...) you can have it at a $100.00 discount (so for $500.00 instead of $600.00) off the listed price at the link below. Here’s the link: [( Use code AZRIEL at the checkout for the discount. Ben Settle P.S. If you already possess some of the Email Players issues this book is made up of, you’ll have to decide whether it is worth paying for this offer or not. So please read the sales letter thoroughly, and think carefully before purchasing if that is the case. This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. Copyright © 2024 Settle, LLC. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
