I once heard a motivational speaker (and, admittedly, convicted felon, infomercial king Kevin Trudeau...) tell a cautionary story about the utter foolishness of newbies, amateurs, and beginners always seeking âadvancedâ info, secret hacks, and other assorted tricks, tips, and tactics. The story went like this: He was a young punk full of piss & vinegar. And he found a wise & very skilled kung fu master to learn from. And the first thing teen KT tells this wise kung fu master is: âI want to learn advanced fighting!â The kung fu master thought about this for a second. âAdvanced?â âYes Master, show me advanced fighting tricks!â So the kung fu master leads his eager new disciple to a lit candle. He then throws a punch next to it so fast â the breeze generated from his punch puts the candle out! âAdvanced like that?â asks the kung fu master. To which KT nearly explodes in excitement: âYes! Advanced like that! Teach me that!â To which the master replies: âFirst, you have to learn how to punch.â This is something that applies to many-a-newbie who has swam the moat and scaled the treacherous terrain to my mountainous lair wanting to learn email, copywriting, and marketing. And, the vast majority of them never last past me giving them the most basic of instructions. In fact, a few years back one especially clueless chick in the MLM niche even told me the advice I gave her about how to grow her business was âdisappointing.â And the reason why is she was seeking the marketing equivalent advice on how to put out a candle with a punch, without learning the basics of punching, first â such as what part of the fist to use to punch, how to position her body to make her punch far more devastating, the best parts of her opponentâs body to strike, how to aim, and the list goes on. In her mind, she thinks she's ready for advanced. But her questions - all extremely amateur - showed otherwise. Thus, the basic 101 info I gave to start with that disappointed her. Which brings Yours Crotchety to the point: Learning the basics is not supposed to be âeasyâ or âfastâ or even âfun.â If it was, everyone would do it. Instead, few ever bother to or have the character to persist through the bloody knuckles, hard work, or learning curves. And, thus, they never outgrow mediocre at best, and fail miserably at worst. Enter the Jim Camp offer Iâve been preaching all weekend. My pal Michael Senoff had a chance before Jimâs death to record an intense 4-hour, 174 question Q&A with Jim about some of his best methods and ideas, and packaged it into a a $597 product that is â in my opinion, at least â some of the most powerful info youâll ever hear on the subject of not only negotiation, but sales, the psychology of influence & persuasion (even if he didnât particularly care for the term âpersuasionâ), and marketing. And itâs grounded in 100% fundamentals and principles â with no real âadvancedâ in it. Although I suspect much of what is taught inside will seem advanced to most for no other reason than the wisdom that great teacher of influence & persuasion taught is almost heresy if you read a lot of todayâs marketing and copywriting content â especially if you are getting your education from social media. Plus: Until tonight (Sunday, 6/9) at midnight EDT you can have this $597 product for just $20. This is a deal so generous it borders on ridiculous. And, I cannot imagine it not significantly making any marketer, any copywriter, any freelancer, any coach/consultant, and anyone in business who carefully listens to it, intensely studies it (i.e., goes through it multiple times, not just one-and-done like amateurs do), and eagerly applies it make a ho bunch more sales, nab higher fees, and experience far greater success, while having more fun and peace of mind all around. Certainly has for me. And I believe it can for you too. Anyway, time is short on this offer.
