Some years back, I got contacted by a bloke with a big email list. And he wanted to hire me for consulting. My initial response was what I tell everyone wanting to hire me for consulting: "No." For one, I don’t particularly like talking to people. Even friends & family know text or email is best. And no exaggeration… I will literally walk a half mile out of my way to avoid people I see coming on the beach, especially when I am intently focused on listening to an audio book or other audio training, or doing a Twitter Spaces call, or just in my head solving a problem/thinking about something and can’t be bothered by small talk. Another reason: I simply have never found consulting worth my time. After all, the hour I spend consulting someone’s business, I could assemble and mail an offer to my own list that would make me much more of the green stuff than a consulting fee. Unless I charged several hundreds of dollars or more per hour for such a service, I suppose. And even then it’s just not something I enjoy. Plus, I enjoy working on my own projects and on my own businesses (I just added another to my portfolio last week - a regional newspaper in my state) more than consulting someone else about theirs. But then, a light-bulb flickered in my beady little mind, and I emailed him back: “I will consult you for an hour in exchange for you mailing your list about me.” Short story long: He enthusiastically agreed. And afterwards he was so pleased with it he made a YouTube video about it. “Fast forward” a few months later: I tested making the same offer to my “Email Players” subscribers. And, while it was quite exhausting (I foolishly did multiple calls in the same days I did them), it wasn’t the hellish experience I was envisioning. I may have even caught myself having a bit of fun in a couple instances. So I made the exact same offer about a year later. And, again, it was not as bad as I thought it’d be. I then repeated it again about a year ago. And, yes, I may even have enjoyed that time too. I did it a couple times last year too, and that was a good time as well. Which brings me to today: I’m again making that same offer to my main email list here: If this is of interest to you and if you qualify (and no, I won’t be making an “exception” for those who don’t qualify — even asking to be an exception shows how unprepared they are to deal with me anyway), I’ll give you an hour of consulting about anything I’m qualified to talk about — nothing held back, “uncut” and uncensored — in exchange for you emailing your list to go to my opt-in page. Here’s how it works: 1. You must have an email list of at least 10,000 online business owners (that doesn’t have a lot of “overlap” of people with my list — otherwise, not much point) — who both would be interested in the kind of info I write about and sell, and also who hear from you regularly via email. If you are one of these boys or ghouls who only uses social media and never emails, it ain’t gonna happen. That weeds out probably 99% of people reading this. 2. You mail your list first, show me proof, then we will do the consult. 3. You can record and use the consult as content, a bonus/premium, even sell it if you want… it’s all yours, and will be recorded on your zoom or whatever, not by me. One taker recently turned it into a live group call for his mastermind. (They "beamed" me in to the room via Zoom) Your imagination for using it is the limit. The deadline to respond to this is tomorrow night (Wednesday 4/24) by midnight EDT. Didn't see this email until after the deadline? That’s too bad, Chachi. Not reading my emails immediately upon arrival is forbidden... Anyway, my time & patience are limited. So I won’t be doing this for very many people. Frankly, if nobody reading this qualifies, I will not lose sleep over it. (Originally it was a minimum 5,000 list size, I doubled that for a reason.) To get the ball rolling do this: 1. Reply back to this email before tomorrow night’s deadline. 2. Include ALL the specifics about what kind of business people are on your list, what they like to buy/learn, size of it, and how often you mail it. Do not send me your sales pages or anything else - critiques, "quick look", etc is not what the consulting entails. If your list sounds like a good match for me, we’ll make it happen. If not, we won’t. Also be patient if you don't hear back from me right away. May take a day or two. Ben Settle P.S. While you are pondering — or not pondering — this offer, I also highly suggest getting a free BerserkerMail test drive. No credit card is needed.
